Didn't I say that further up the thread? Did you?? Didn't see it Was on TalkSport just now. TF is apparently leading the talks even though he was due to be in China for an important meeting today. (Perhaps to sign new striker Wun Hung Lo).

Of course Tony might be interviewing a number of targets over the next few days.
Although saying that I do think Hughes will be confirmed today.

SSN has their man standing in the dark outside the ground. He spoke to Hughes' driver. We really have arrived in the top flight when this happens. Bothroyd's welcomed him in a tweet, does he think he'll get a game then!

Personally I think he is a good choice. If TF truly does have a long term view then it is now time for us to have a stable, experienced successful manager. We have to go back a long way since we had any level of stability in this job. 13 managers in 6 years says it all. We have to go back to the mid 90's to find a Premier League capable manager at the helm. I think Mark Hughes is qualified for the job we need doing; establish QPR as a solid mid table team (eg Stoke City); develop the club to a level where a new stadium is feasible and be a place where entertaining football is the norm and we can enjoy the Bowles, Marsh, Ferdinand calibre of player in our beloved Hoops.

Although personally I think you'd be better offering Blackburn a huge compensation package and take Steve Kean to Loftus Rd. you'd love him down there, top bloke and best manager around......... lol

I'm a firm believer of if you don't concede you can't lose. Whereas lots of managers sort the scoring out first and still fail to pick up points. If Hughes can bring in 2/3 defenders and a replacement for Faurlin we will score more goals as a result anyway.

As you say, if you don't concede you don't get beat. Hughes will have work but out sorting out our lot though, blimey, defense needs to play together and become a unit to be truly effective and how many times have we fielded the same back five this season?

Mark Hughes....God help us! Brace yourself for the signing of mediocre players, boring football, more points dropped and him moaning in six months time about how the ambition of the owners doesn't match his. Has this guy ever achieved anything meaningful on the management front? Because if he has, I've missed it!

Hopefully in six months time we will still be a Premiership team and if he decides to leave because the board lack his ambition and survived the drop, then so be it. He is in a win , win situation. We go down he leaves as does TF and if we survive and TF does not back him , then his CV will read better than it does already .

When Mark last joined us as manager in September 2004 his key aim was to keep us clear of relegation, which he succeeded in doing – and he also guided us to an FA Cup semi-final for the first time in over 40 years. In his second season he took us to a top six finish and qualified for the EUFA Cup, sealing our spot in Europe by beating champions Chelsea 1-0.
would that not make you happy if he did the same for you ? as for boring football ? sorry but you've been watching a different game to me lol

I can see Warnock going to Blackburn at the end of the season and taking them straight back up. Let's hope we are not in the same division when that happens!

BRFC , I for one would love just half of that and so would many other R's fans. You can see by the response on our board that most fans are pleased with his appointment, but pleasing everyone is a difficult ask.

Our big tests will be Wigan and Wolves for starters , Wigan without Taarabt , Faurlin and Traore . By the time we play Wolves they will Have played Spurs , Liverpool and Chelsea twice , if they beat us doudbful if we will finish above them. As you know we have to get most of our points in the next 10 games with big boys in the last 8 even WBA away and Stoke home wont be easy ! Everything to play for but if you want us to take Samba off your hands for 8 million ?
