That's the Ian Taylor who (as I noted yesterday) tweeted not a word of regret re Warnock but did tweet " IJTaylor81 IanJTaylor Just spoken to @tonyfernandes. Been a hard day for him but he's a fighter and is determined for us to succeed. #QPR 15 hours ago Favorite Retweet Reply » Really appreciate all the messages from fellow press managers. #thanks 15 hours Long old day and the phone has run out of battery twice. yes of course mark hughes is the best manager out of work to take the job, just not happy about the disloyalty to the total gentlemen warnock when he didnt really have a chance. he was one goal (i blame bothroyd dj for this as well) atgainst newcastle and west brom away from doing a really good job so far and still having a job he loved. so gutted for him, and im not going to embrace hughes for a while yet. feels like a break up with a crumpet sort of feeling at the moment.

I don't particularly want Hughes. But there's no one I particularly want. And he seems a far better choice than the other hot one, Zola (with WILKINS as his #2!)...Given Hughes' ambitions, if Fernandes is serious, he'll have to offer up more than one or two signings Hughes has always spent money and his return to Blackburn was torpedoed by the lack of transfer funds...he'll get cash to spend and lots by the sound of it but probably less now that Warnock will be paid off and he'll want a signing bonus

Is there anyone (realistic) that people would prefer to Hughes? (Not whether Warnock should have been axed. But now that he is...) I wouldn't mind David Moyes Always seems to do well without signing very many players Are we a bigger club than Everton though? If Moyes left Everton I'm certain they'd be relegated, frankly he should win Manager of the Year most years

I think I'd like Arsene Wengner...He must be getting a little tired of Arsenal. Have a fresh start...

I would actually have Holloway back. He seems to have changed his style since he last managed us and although he did get relegated with Blackpool last season he had hardly any backing but they still played really good attacking football.

Damn and blast, Preston are speaking to Graham Westley, there's the man we should have gone for. Ex-QPR man as well The Stevenage Official Statement CLUB STATEMENT REGARDING GRAHAM WESTLEY Posted on: Mon 09 Jan 2012 Stevenage FC confirm that Preston North End FC have asked for permission to speak to Graham Westley with the view to employing him as their new Manager. The club have informed Preston that their approach is unwelcome at this crucial stage of the season. However, as always in these situations, the Manager's desire will influence the outcome. SSN report. Hughes in talks today. Players told to carry on as normal. Only reserves and youth trainig today, injured players also in. Bircham looked genuinely upset and said he was shocked but they've been told to carry on as normal. Hughes has only finished outside the top ten in one season in his Prem career. Brendan Rodgers saying nice things about Warnock. Wonder if they'll speak to Lambert! Can someone inform SSN that the injured player's name is not Forlan!!!

At the end of the day, Premier League survival is what is important if you're into the money side of things. Most of us would still follow the hoops if we were even in the conference. We always live in the hope that "this season" will be a good one. Well, last season Neil Warnock achieved just that despite a lot of interference and power plays behind the scenes. For this he will be revered by fans whom can appreciate just how difficult it must have been.
Neil has gone, I just hope his replacement is someone whom is passionate and determined to succeed for the club, not just to line their own pocket and whimp out when the going got tough.

deep down i think neil got done up like a kipper, some of the rumours are making him and he's staff look like the 3 stooges.
no one can tell me that they wasn't professional on the training ground or on matchday, this was warnocks swansong, he wanted this more than anything in he's career, why would he f*ck it up by letting it get out of control?

Agreed Mike Hunt.
I am hopeful that MH will be our next messiah and do as NW did when he got the hot seat.
Save us from the drop .

couple of reasons he got sacked for me. nobody but helguson scoring and the way he treated traore and faurlin in public. dont care what anyone says, no player would be happy or could respect a manager after that.

If that's true (and I tend to be very, very sceptical re the claims), then wonder who it is orchestrating it. Or was it just someone's own initiative. Axing is fine (well not fine, but the norm in football)...Badmouthing is something a little different.
Assuming (and I have no idea either way) that the rumours are not true, then would hope the new club would look into this matter and act if warranted.

(i mention gorkss and connolly, and he publicly tore them to shreds) no different from last season

if jay bothroyd or dj campbell ever dared to score we would of had at elast 6 to 9 more points and be top half of the table and neil would still be in a job mate. thats a stone wall fact isnt it? cant see how that stinks?
