The Norwich game highlighted a number of issues that to my mind need to be discussed.
The Norwich support for a start was magnificent and surely put us all to shame. If a crowd can inspire a team as we did against Man City or the unmentionables it can equally work against us. 'We'll sing on our own' from the City fans summed us up.
We were outplayed until the Barton goal. Outplayed by a huge margin. Norwich seemed to be sharper, keener and up for it.
I can't comment on Barton's sending off as the action was behind one of those famous South Africa Road pillars. However the body language of both our and Norwich players seemed to suggest that the ref got it wrong.
The ref got it wrong most of the afternoon and whilst it's a god awful job, these guys earn serious money compared to the rest of us. It seems to me that of a player is having a mare and can be substituted, the same should happen for a ref. It would give the 4th official a real role instead of handing up a board that says '3 minutes' when the stadium announcer has already told us how much added time there is.
But what is the point of Warnock screaming at the 4th official or lino for the rest of the first half?
What good does it do?
Surely his job at that point is to try and rebalance the 10 men on the pitch?
Although we played better in the second half, I fail to understand how we can bring on a player that has never trained for the club or probably met his team mates. "Oi Mate, what foot do you kick with.......what's your name?"
SWP also remains a mystery. He seemed to have the pace to beat the Norwich fullback everytime but failed too many times to capitalise on his pace. Paddy also seems to think that his height is an advantage with his goal kicks.
I also didn't understand Adel's substitution. If there was a player on the pitch that was creating opportunities it was him.
I'm not asking for Neil's head, but understanding some of the decisons would be interesting to know.
It was a quiet Loftus Road today unfortunatley.
