But I have no trust of what comes out of the club and some stuff I see on messageboards. Too much spin and smearing going on at the moment.
But something just doesn't sit right with recent event. Well actually nothing sits right. But I'm talking about the hey look what Sousa told me post that went out. Now I'm not singling out WATRB, as Scott says it was posted on the official site first. But... When people mormally get snippets of information, they normally post and say something to the effect of "I can't say who my source is but, I have been told" It's very rare that somesone actually gives names. Unless they are making a point against that person. Like in the case where Paladini, was heard referring to the manager as a c***(Why wouldn't he have been pulled up about that).
The board have been looking at getting rid of Sousa for a while, they also obviously do not want to pay out the rest of the contract. The suspicion was that they were trying to force him to resign by getting rid of his coach, The loaning out of Blackstock could also be a way of undermining him into leaving. However there was no sign of him walking so it is very convenient, that this has now come up and provided the perfect excuse to get rid without paying compensation.
What also concerns me is that this person provided proof also by showing a picture of himself with Sousa when asked to do so. We are often told that messageboards aren't powerful enough to have any say what happens in the boardroom. Well it sure has on this occasion.
Sousa has now denied the allegations he revealed confidential information about the club. Is he lying or telling the truth. or is the poster lying. Was Sousa asked if it was true or did the board see the post and think. That'll do nicely thank you. If he was asked I'm sure he would have denied it. Like he is now. If they read the internet posts they would have seen other posters saying it was true. This would tell them that people other than Sousa(alledgedly) were saying these things. Perhaps some of the pople sacking Sousa was the people saying it. There was a seperate comment about Sousa potentially getting a payoff if the club signed a left back. Also confirming Lopez's basic wage. These obviuosly didn't come from Sousa. So the club has been leaking confidential inf all over the place. Are these being looked into to find out who else is doing it. As I said Sousa has denied it. So are they taking the word of a post on the internet messageboard over the word of their head coach. Did they not try and confirm the post was true witout any reasonable doubt, before wielding the axe.
So once again why would somebody post those comments and put Sousa's name against whilst providing a picture to go with teh story. If you're defending Sousa why not post without using his name. Surely you must realise that would have only got someone in trouble. I mean if somebody at work told you confidential information would you go and tell your boss who told you what. Surely you know that it would only cause problems for your source.
So based on the above
1. Was the post done with the intention to defend or d.amn.
2. How does the board know that the comments were true and not just made up
3. Did the board fully investigate the sites that showed the posts
4. Is the club now going to put a stop to all leaks coming out of the club and instantly dismiss anyone suspected of doing so.
5. Based on the speed of their decision yesterday and not having the time to properly look into points 2 and 3, Is there something seriously underhand going on within the club.
Personally number 5 wouldn't surprise me in the least.
