It was for a few short years in the early/mid 1970s. Kind of a satire/"Private Eye" type re English Football. They would have had a field day with QPR over the past few years.

I do indeed. There were a couple of 'Best of' books that I get off the shelf every so often.
My favourite is probably the Foul football glossary. Some examples:
FA - a body of old men who bring the game into disrepute
Fanny merchant - a highly skilled player in terms on ball skills, but lacking in either the will or the abililty to kick opponents eg Stan Bowles was called a fanny merchant by Jack Charlton
