I just saw that as well, pretty interesting & out of the blue signing if true, he's played for some big clubs since he was last in England.

You failed to mention that, in 2005, Djibril Cissé, at the time a Liverpool and France footballer, became Lord of the Manor of Frodsham, a title that was recorded in the Domesday Book.

Am i the only one that doesnt rate Cisse , one goal in loads of games ! Rather Rodalega than him if honest . We seem to be scouring the whole of Europe for a Striker , there must be a few closer to home to consider used to the Prem, sometimes it takes time to adjust to the Prem and we dont have months?

See Pienaar and Krancjar((sp) are not even starting for Spurs , either one of those would do the Hoops , suppose Harry will give them 15 mins to keep them sweet.

Not happy with this if it comes off , 5 million , a waste .. Cisse in Mark Hughes' sights as Queens Park Rangers manager looks to boost club's firepower Queens Park Rangers are hoping to sign France striker Djibril Cisse for £5 million as manager Mark Hughes steps up his plans to rebuild his team before the transfer window closes. Lazio striker Djibril Cisse could sign for QPR before the January transfer deadline Photo: AP By Jason Burt, Deputy A bid has been submitted to Cisse’s club, Lazio, and it is understood that the former Liverpool striker is extremely keen to return to England, especially if he can move to London. If QPR fail to sign Cisse they will submit a bid for Wigan Athletic’s Victor Moses, who is stalling on signing a new deal. It is understood that QPR will also sign Nancy defensive midfielder Samba Diakite on loan with a view to a permanent £3.5 million transfer at the end of the season. The 23 year-old is on Africa Cup of Nations duty with Mali but wants to play in the Premier League. Cisse has struggled to settle at Lazio, whom he only joined in July for the same fee as he is now being made available for. The 30 year-old arrived from the Greek club Panathinaikos having previously been on loan at Sunderland after a spell in Marseille. He is, of course, best known in England for his career at Liverpool, whom he joined in 2004 for £14 million, scoring 11 goals in his first 23 games only to then suffer a horrific leg break from which he struggled to recover. If Cisse signs it will be the second Serie A player to join QPR since Hughes was appointed, following the loan deal for AC Milan’s Nigerian international left-back Taye Taiwo until the end of the season. Hughes is desperate to add firepower and Cisse’s acquistion would be regarded as a coup for QPR, as was the arrival of Taiwo. Hughes has also signed Nedum Onuoha from his former club Manchester City for £2.75 million and the 25 year-old is set to make his debut on Saturday in the FA Cup tie at home to Chelsea having agreed a 4½-year deal. Taiwo is still waiting for a work permit. Hughes missed out on Chelsea’s Alex who on Friday, as expected, completed his £4 million move to Paris St-Germain, but he has not given up hope of persuading Blackburn Rovers to sell Christopher Samba, who has handed in a transfer request. QPR may face competition from Tottenham Hotspur. Despite Blackburn’s insistence that they will not sell Samba, it is understood they are demanding a fee of £15 million, but neither club will pay that. Hughes also maintains an interest in Spurs midfielder Steven Pienaar, while there are likely to be several departures at QPR before Tuesday’s transfer deadlinewww.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/queens-park-rangers/9045648/Djibril-Cisse-in-Mark-Hughes-sights-as-Queens-Park-Rangers-manager-looks-to-boost-clubs-firepower.html

Will be a bit disappointed with Cisse, at first I though he would be a great sigings but then I thought about it some more and we could do better for less. Plus he is even more lazy then Betty Bothroyd.

I understand the reservations with Cisse but his scoring record is pretty good in the Premiership, Hughes tried buying him when at Man C. has played for quality teams and did very well in Greece. Certainly much better than a number of others being mentioned? I also think the 'interest' in Moses and Rodalega is just tactical to unsettle relegation opponents, although I wouldn't mind either coming our way! Think there could still be a surprise or two before deadline day is over!!

Liking that we're now be linked to strikers. I'm not surprised that all of the names are players who are slightly out of form. Top strikers won't come here. In form won't be sold so we're left with players like Cisse, Rodalega and Barrios who are all good players but just out of form.
All three IMO would be excellent additions and with time would be better than every striker we have at the moment.

www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/hughes-doubts-qpr-will-sign-cisse/Hughes doubts QPR will sign Cissé 27/01/2012 by David McIntyre Mark Hughes has indicated that he is unlikely to sign former Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé. The QPR manager confirmed the club have expressed an interest in buying the 30-year-old France international from Italian side Lazio. Cissé, who left Liverpool in 2006 and spent the 2008-09 season on loan at Sunderland, is believed to be keen to return to the Premier League. But Hughes said: “It’s one of those where if it comes through you’re delighted, but that one’s not one I would hang my hat on.” Cissé is one of a host of strikers Rangers have enquired about as they look to sign a forward ahead of next week’s transfer deadline. Another is Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season. Rangers are considering making a bid for the Colombian as well as another for Chris Samba – despite having two previous offers for the defender rejected by Blackburn. “We’re looking at players all over the world to see if we can bring quality in. We’d certainly like to get another striker,” Hughes confirmed.

Fing hope this one is wrong considering Taarabt for Cisse cant believe that , Hughes aint watched him yet . Good Rory , hope we dont get Cisse.. EXCLUSIVE: QPR line up Djibril Cisse Published 22:00 27/01/12 By John Cross Recommend . QPR boss Mark Hughes has targeted Lazio's former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse for a shock return to the Premier League. Hughes is a long-term admirer of Cisse's, and tried to sign him while in charge at Manchester City. Rangers are desperate to strengthen their strike force as they battle to avoid an instant return to the Championship. Interestingly, the Italians have made enquiries about QPR forward Adel Taarabt and it is believed Hughes may be ready to cash in on the Moroccan to create funds for new signings. Cisse, now 30, became one of the biggest names in the Premier League during his Liverpool days and enjoyed a prolific spell at Greek side Panathinaikos after leaving Anfield. The France international joined Lazio last summer but has largely played wide even though he still sees himself as a goal-scoring centre-forward www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Transfer-gossip-QPR-target-Djibril-Cisse-Lazio-forward-formerly-of-Liverpool-article858099.html
