It's all gone very quiet. We are not being linked to anyone. Maybe that means we are actually getting down to business not through the press but through the normal ways!! Let's hope so.......

Now I say this with Blue and white tinted glasses on but I reckon he really wants to come here under Mark Hughes.

Arsenal’s Monakana joins QPR on trial JANUARY 16, 2012 BY JEORGE BIRD LEAVE A COMMENT Rate This Jeffrey Monakana, one of several second year scholars to have been told that he is free to leave the club after not being provided with assurances regarding a professional contract, is currently on trial with Queens Park Rangers. Monakana, who is nominally a right-winger but can also operate as a central striker, steadily rose through the ranks at the club’s Hale End Academy, and signed scholarship forms at the start of last season, making 42 appearances for the under-18s in the ensuing period, as well as making his Reserve debut this season. However, he was left out of the squad for the FA Youth Cup defeat to Derby last month and was substituted in each of the past four Premier Academy League games that he has started for the club. QPR, who signed Callum Webb from Arsenal in similar circumstances earlier in the season, were alerted to the situation and Monakana was an un-used substitute in their Youth Cup victory over Everton last week. During his time at the club, Monakana has impressed with his speed and ability to deliver precise crosses but, for an attack-minded player, his return in front of goal has been lacking, finding the net on just five occasions since his scholarship began. That, and the continued progress of Josh Rees, are thought to be the key reasons behind Arsenal’s reluctance to offer a contract, but, if the sprightly youngster is to leave then he will be able to do so with his head held high having not let his commitment waver during his time at the club. Several of the 17 players who signed scholarship forms with the club in the summer of 2010 have since departed. Jamie Edge is at West Bromwich Albion, whilst Steven Smith joined Leicester and Webb could soon be reunited with Monakana at QPR. Alban Bunjaku remains likely to leave the club following a disagreement with coaching staff, with the technically talented youngster now preparing for trials with Rangers and Celtic after a proposed move to West Ham fell through. Ben Glasgow and James Campbell are likely to join Monakana in being released, after they were both also left out of Arsenal’s ill-fated Youth Cup campaign. Martin Angha, Zak Ansah, Elton Monteiro, Kyle Ebecilio, Nigel Neita and Josh Rees have all signed professional contracts, with Jordan Wynter, Reice Charles-Cook, Samir Bihmoutine, Philip Roberts and Reice Charles-Cook also likely to be retained. arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/arsenals-monakana-joins-qpr-on-trial/?

Worry not people, be patient. We will bring players in. Havent we been told that for weeks now though? I'm seriously running out of patience, meanwhile everyone else is managing to sign players just fine...we're not even being mentioned on sky/papers anymore, i dont think that can be a good sign. I really hope they pull out a few major suprises though VERY QUICKLY!!!!

ONly £9.2m spent so far by all Prem teams in the transfer window. It all happens in the last two weeks.

QPR to make improved £7.5m bid for Christopher Samba following Blackburn defender's transfer request Rangers to make second bid for wantaway Congolese centre-back, who has also been linked with Tottenham and officially requested a transfer on Monday in bid to force January move BET: RETURNS: QPR £19.50 Draw £33.00 Wigan £35.00 16 Jan 2012 19:30:00 0 Comments MORE ON : Blackburn Rovers, QPR, Tottenham, Christopher Samba Getty Images EXCLUSIVE By Greg Stobart | Northern Correspondent QPR are set to make an improved offer of £7.5 million for Christopher Samba after the Blackburn defender handed in a transfer request on Monday. DON'T MISS Blackburn's Samba hands in transfer requestKean: Blackburn have rejected bids for Samba Spurs target Samba says he wants to leaveRedknapp not ruling out bid for Samba Rovers have already rejected a £6.5m bid from QPR and Goal.com understands Rangers manager Mark Hughes will launch a new bid ‘within hours’. Samba, 27, is believed to be prepared to go on strike to force a move away from Ewood Park as he fears the club will price him out of a switch this month. QPR are ready to pay the Congo centre-back £60,000-a-week, a substantial improvement on the £50,000 weekly he earns at Blackburn, who paid £450,000 to sign him from Hertha Berlin five years ago. Samba, who has also been strongly linked with Tottenham, revealed in an interview last week that he feels it is "time for a change" and followed that up by handing in an official transfer request on Monday. Jumping ship | Samba has made clear that he wants to leave Ewood Park "I have officially requested a transfer from Blackburn Rovers Football Club," Samba said. "I have personally informed the owners, manager and executives at the club that I want to leave in this transfer window. "In my five years at Blackburn Rovers Football Club I have always given 100 per cent in every game I have played. I have had several opportunities to leave but I have always stayed. "I have decided now is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge and I have asked the club to respect my decision and allow me to leave. "I thank the fans for their support and I hope they feel I have served them and their club well." Samba felt forced to go public with his desire to leave as Blackburn insisted he would not be sold in the January transfer window. Rovers are believed to be determined to reject any bids of less than £12m for a player considered key to their prospects of avoiding relegation this season. Blackburn released a statement earlier this month claiming Samba would not be sold, a stance echoed by manager Steve Kean this week. "He's not for sale, it's as simple as that," Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph. "He'll be back in again and hopefully ready for Everton [on Saturday]." www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/01/16/2850271/qpr-to-make-improved-75m-bid-for-christopher-samba-following

Yes. But I understand Kean/Blackburn. If they sell their best defender (player?), what will they buy? In January.

They sold Jones for £14m (or was it 16m?) and at that time he wasn't considered their best defender. We want to buy their best for half of that... When they are fighting the relegation.

Nice...But I want a goalscorer more than anything...And then midfield creativity... I'm sure Beckham wants to play in England for a couple months till MLS starts (with the Olympics on). Maybe we don't want him...But surely we could do deal if we did.
