Messageboard posters (metaphorically!) prostrated themselves before his feet. He was the King. He was the Emperor. He was GOD!
Not Caliendo...Not Paladini...Not Bill Power...Blackburn...Wright ...Thompson...Bullstrode...Even Jim Gregory. None were Idolized like "FLAVIO"
And now? I'd say probably views are a little different!

And even more so today....Probably moved to the very top ahead of Blackburn, Thompson, Wright and Paladini in "Least Loved"

Briatore would still be a saviour of god like status if he had restricted himself to holding the purse strings and approving transfers and staying firmly in the directors box. Instead he had to interfer with too much stuff out of his league.
Note ecclestone is not copping any crap because he is leaving it up to the others to run, he is just an investor and knows his station in the club. I would love to know what he is thinking at the moment though.
Paladini is indeed up there with Wright, Thompson and Blackburn. He earn't that status ever since the Sheffield united game all those years ago.

With the benefit of hindsight that is a cheap statement to make.
Of course we rejoiced when he came in, like normal reasonable people we assumed we were better off. Now we know that is not the case. Now we dislike him.
