Think if we had better players - including better strikers, the results would be better and the football would be better? Say we had signed Ben Watson and Ebanks-Blake (before he went to Wolves) instead of wasting the money elsewhere? Hmmmm

Absulutely. but who knows if we could have signed them. Or if we did, one could have got injured one could have twisted knee on our awful pitch. Which I think is an absolute travesty. That there was no attempt to carefully garden it and restore it or cover it., or diligently be concerned about it says a lot about management. I wonder how long it will take for Flav to realise what it means to own a football club, and take care of basics. So a new pitch is coming, so is christmas.

But when you mention better players ,Mr Inghams point about players holding and passing ball, the few games I have seen this year I saw little of that. If they did they couldnt finish. Under DiCanio last year there was much more evidence of basic skills, but then the team lacked bottle and couldnt hold on to leads. despite that we are half way up the table which shows how easy it would have been to make the playoffs because of the overall dire quality of play. this is a brutal thuggish league with dismal refereeing. Look at a player being kicked in the face and bleeding and no call. Italian spanish Euro americans dont cut it. Gregory understood this and got more out of less because he knew the league game and style and made some shrewd loan moves. So If is the question if our three talented injured players and add Agingman were well would we have made playoffs. Yes, IF. Sousa was allowed to play them and not the Italos and if Sousa used their skills that fit them rather than have them fit into a diamond,Rh,homboid, Euclidian theorem, and play the same team everweek, Yes we could have won more games. But what didnt happen has no meaning. Unfortunateley in my humble opinion, it will take a long time under Flav to achieve this. By then he may have lost so much money he will get out somehow.

I think, london, that Sousa actually does play a system best suited to our players (unlikely Dowie playing Buzsaky on the wing).
Our defence is a back 4, as we have good centre-backs. No comment on the fullbacks. We play a midfield where a ball winner sits behand four playmakers (of which we have a lot of decent ones). And we play one striker almost as an afterthought because none are really up to it.
With Rowlands, Buzsaky, Agyemang and Vine we would have played the same system and done a little better. Like you suggest.
