There is an excellant article on Indy R's on the trip to Slovan Bratislava.
I certainly wouldn't argue with them as this being our best away game, especially as I was not there or at Old Trafford or Anfield.
The best I was present at was probably a 2-0 win at Ipswich in 83. We were magnificent & very nearly as good 2 weeks later in scoring 3 at Norwich. Oh Happy Days!
Did anyone on this site go on the trip to Bratislava?

Don't know about best..but maybe the most significant was the 2-1 win at Aston Villa in 1968...

Dont you miss grounds like the Baseball ground. ok it was a bit delapidated but it had a sense of history - bit like the old Loft before it was demolished.

I was one of the 50 that traveled on the coach. A topless bar was the highlight in Frankfurt, very interesting to say the least. The group photo on the indy's site brings back happy memories and I can name most of them. The driver of the coach Fred Grimshaw was an absolute gem of a guy.

On reading the thread title my thoughts immediately went to the Wolves match I attended in '73-74 season. We went behind early to a John Richards goal, but came back strongly and won 4-2. The match is available to view on YouTube. Dave Thomas was awesome that day, his run from Parkes's throw to set up Stan Bowles was magnificent. Overall Rangers were terrific, as they were for the whole season, finishing 8th in the table.

Still think Man Utd 1 QPR 4 (aka the New Years Massacre) still rates as one of our best away games.
Remember Utd were running neck and neck with Leeds for the title that season and had just won the Cup Winners Cup 6 months earlier, and some of their players that day were to become super stars, so it's not as though it was a poor Utd side that night - and we killed them.

Brum 1 - 4 QPR 1966-67 League Cup Semi Final first leg away.
Even just thinking about Marsh's equaliser makes the hairs go up on the back of my neck. Just couldn't believe it. Lose away, just try to make it up at home. Didn't even conceive of a draw, let alone a bloody massacre.
Brum couldn't cope either, and ended up conceding 7 over the two legs.
