The only thing in this thread that I am 100% positive on is that is not a picture of KLR.

with the huge games we have coming up (chels.cum, Man City, Spuds, Ful-o-shite), we have to be realistic. As much as I rate DJ Campbell, in the system we play there is only room for one striker and against these technically sound teams we will be facing, having a short quick striker will not be effective. We will need a target man who is able to hold up long balls the defence will be pumping up to him when we are under pressure from the likes of Aguero,Silva,Mata,Adebayor,Modric. Jay Bothroyd, has proven he can do this. Yes he hasn't scored, but his hold up and link up play has been excellent. HH is a great sub/replacement if Jay gets injured and DJ is perfect once defences are tired and can't handle his pace. IMO in these big games as much as it pains me to say it and as much as I doubt it will happen, I think we need to drop Tarbs. He is a luxury player. I have been very impressed with him in the last few games, and I think against smaller teams he will change games for us. But against these big teams we should go with 2 up top DJ and Jay, and when defending we change to a 4411. The only way to stop these big teams is by having a go at them and being more positive, take Stoke against United this weekend for example. They went with one big one small up front (Crouch and Walters), and it worked. IMO Stoke deserved to win but the way they went at United did 2 things. It took United out of their comfort zone, if you sit back and try to close off all space against them they are good enough to pick you off then you're just playing catch up, (example Everton at Man City on Saturday) and from there they will score a 2nd and 3rd. Secondly, especially if you are at home, it gets the crowd right behind you if they can see that your having a go and not settling for a 0-0 or damage limitation ie 0-1. I would happily take a spanking of 3-0 at spurs to beat Chelsea and draw with City because we've tried to play good attacking football.

Trouble with our strikers at present is that they are doing just that - striking (as in 'going on'). Something drastic must be done about it!

Maybe your right Bowles , he did get 13 League goals in 32 games last year , however Bothroyd got 18 League goals in 37 games and you could argue Helguson was in a better team and so should have got more. Personally i would stick with Bothroyd again , hes getting used to playing in a new team with new players it takes a bit of time but stick with it a bit longer. Wont do Bothroyd confidence any good if you drop him now . Im more concerned about the other defender coming in though , think that will be our biggest worry.

You couldn't blame Nelly, if he was thinking HH would've buried some of those headers Betty is messing up.
