Nottingham Forest are set to sign Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill, BBC Radio Nottingham understands. Forest fear they need cover following a knee injury to current left-back Chris Cohen, who was hurt in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat against Derby County. Hill, who can play at full-back or centre-half, played 45 games as QPR won promotion to the top flight last term. But the 32-year-old was sent off in the 4-0 defeat by Bolton on the opening day of the season and has not played since. Cohen, who has played most of his career in midfield but has started the season at full-back, limped off during the loss against Forest's fierce rivals and it is feared he could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Hill started his career at Tranmere Rovers and represented Oldham Athletic and Stoke City before moving to London with Crystal Palace and then QPR in June 2010. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14993436.stm

No way. Surely we don't want to let him go?

Given his performances last season I'd prefer we let Connolly go on loan to Hill.
How would this affect our 25 man squad?
Why not pay them to take Yrag?

I think its a crazy move, sure we have looked good the last couple of games but who is going to cover Traore if he gets suspended or injured now? I thought Hill had a very steady season last year and was more sure footed than our selection of centre backs. From our perspective this doesnt make any sense.

Even if accurate, makes no sense. We can't add to our 25 man squad till Jan... If we were going to let him go, should have kept Borrowdale! (Or perhaps better, Shittu)...or anyone...

I don't see the point of naming a 25 man squad that cannot be altered until January then sending one or more or any at all, out on loan. This depleting your squad and removing options that have already been considered and decided upon.
We should only let people go who are not in the 25 man squad, simple as that!!!!
Regardless of the source or what some "ITK insiders" are are claiming!!!!

haha yeah Mclaren loves to think he does, what a joke of a manager he is. When he put on that dutch accent it was a bigger joke than him once being england manager.

And Hill not was just someone who JUST made the 25...The only reason to let him go (and maybe not even then) would be because Hill was desperate to go...

I think this would be a good move for Hill & Rangers.
If we need him, we need him to be match fit. Which he won't be sitting in the stands watching us play.
So let him go on a 3 month loan to Forest PROVIDED that we have inserted an immediate call back clause if we require him.

Clint Hill Emergency Loan Deal Confirmed
Nottingham Forest have today confirmed that QPR defender Clint Hill has joined the club on a 93 day emergency loan deal.
Hill was an ever present in the QPR side that won promotion to the Premiership last season, but has not played for the London club, since being sent off in the opening game of this season, following their 4-0 home defeat to Bolton.
The 32 year old is a tough tackling left back and can also play as a centre half. He will replace the injured Chris Cohen, who is now expected to be out for the remainder of the season, after picking up a cruciate knee ligament injury in the 2-1 defeat against Derby on Saturday.

www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10308~2457512,00.html Reds Swoop For Hill Posted on: Tue 20 Sep 2011 Steve McClaren has moved swiftly to boost his defensive resources following the injury to Chris Cohen. The Nottingham Forest boss has agreed terms with Queens Park Rangers to sign Clint Hill on a 93-day emergency loan. Hill (pictured) will link-up with The Reds later this week and will be in line to make his debut in Saturday's televised Championship date with Watford at Vicarage Road. Cohen is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after scans revealed he has ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee. McClaren said: "It's a bitter blow for Chris who has been one of our stand-out performers so far this season but we are delighted to have agreed terms with QPR for Clint. "He has great experience and will add to our defensive options." Hill, who can operate in the centre of defence or at left back, played in all but two of Rangers' league games last season as they clinched the Championship title. The 32 year old was included in QPR's starting line-up for their opening game of the Premier League season against Bolton but has not figured since after being sent off.

It's really, really weird... Don't understand it in the slightest. Do we have any right of recall during this 93 days?
And the bs about him not figuring: Well he was suspended for three games... .
At times like this, I guess I'm forced to say: Damn you Gianni!

I'll wait for Colin's explanation first though obviously.
