Look if Warnock had been given a pot of 15 million pounds from Taarabt sale - or even 10 million pounds, might have agreed with you. But here we were looking to lose Taarabt and Warnock to get absolutely nothing. And I'd rather under those circumstances rather have Warnock - even given he's obviously not going to dominate like last season...
And if he wants to move in Jan, he better perform for us.

Not really that fussed either way. Sad for him that he constantly tries to pimp himself out but no-one wants him as much as he believes. Sad for us that even if he does stay it won't matter. Sad for the club that the coming season will wipe most of his value off.

QPR TWEET
QPR FC @qpr TAARABT STAYING AT QPR: #QPR talisman Adel Taarabt is staying at the Club this summer, despite approaches for the Moroccan playmaker. #QPR
QPR CLUB STATEMENT: TAARABT IS STAYING Posted on: Sat 23 Jul 2011 Club Statement on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore:
'We are pleased to confirm that Adel Taarabt will be staying at QPR this summer.
Despite receiving a substantial bid for our Moroccan international, we rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets.
Should we have decided to sell Taarabt this summer, we made it clear to Neil Warnock that we would reinvest funds into the squad.
Taarabt is fully committed to the Club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.
Our decision not to sell him only serves to reiterate the ambition and commitment we have both shown to QPR since we arrived here.
We saved the Club when it was close to relegation from the Championship and just one week from liquidation.
At this time, Flavio Briatore outlined a four year plan to reach the Premier League, which was achieved.
We have always owned approximately 70 per-cent of the shareholding at the Club and have been the major benefactors since our arrival.
We have backed Neil Warnock in bringing in his two top targets, Jay Bothroyd and Kieron Dyer, and we are working hard to try and pursue a couple of other targets the coach has identified.
Welsh international Danny Gabbidon has impressed the coach whilst on trial and we are aiming to add him, as well as at least one or two other players to our squad in the near future.
Neil Warnock is our coach and we are working closely with him in a professional and confidential manner to try to achieve our aims and objectives.
The coach's job is to coach the squad and identify players he believes will improve the squad. As a Board, we deal with all the negotiations and we have been successful in completing deals for Bothroyd and Dyer so far.
We are aware of some issues that have been raised in the press by the coach, but we have discussed these with him internally and he has agreed to be more reserved in terms of what he discusses in the future.
We are fully committed to strengthening our status as a Premier League Club next season and in due course, build for the future.
Now we are in the Premier League, we intend to stay here. We believe this Club can achieve great things and we are looking forward to the Barclays Premier League season.
We are very encouraged by the 10,000 plus Season Tickets we have sold to date and we look forward to welcoming our fans back to Loftus Road on the first day of the season against Bolton Wanderers on August 13th.'

I really would have not minded one bit if he left us. My main problem was that they were not going to let NW have any of the transfer money to strengthen the squad. For this reason alone, I am really glad he is staying. Fingers crossed that he will be abe to step up now and play Premier League football, and get us some goals.

I would rather he stayed if honest , he can change a game in an instant and if Neil was not going to see any of the funds from the sale anyway , surely we might as well have him . Great news if he does stay , even if its until Jan , gives us a few % more chance of staying up !

IF true they should give each other a kick up the ar5e for the woeful public face of the club and the effect it has had on our fanbase.

Good for us that he is staying, but what a statement...I only feel disgusted when it comes to those two. I think Warnocks statements might have forced their hand and with papers starting talking negatively about them they had to act in some way.
Also, is it the 110th time or so that we get an offical statement when we get to hear how they saved the club?

If season ticket sales were capped ast 9k how have we sold 10k plus?
So Colin is not allowed to say he wouldn't get the money, which he clearly believed, from the Taarabt sale as they say he would have got it.
Let me think, who should I believe? hmmmm...

"....Should we have decided to sell Taarabt this summer, we made it clear to Neil Warnock that we would reinvest funds into the squad....
Of course they don't say HOW MUCH of the Taarabt money ould have gone to Warnock... 50,000 pounds would count as "would reinvest funds into the squad"
As for the 10K Season tickets sold. That's their Official Number. Let's see the club try slide back from that.
I don't see the need for the rest of the statement. Just snide and nasty and petty. And Unnecesary and tarnishing the feel good (for most people) that Taarabt would be staying

So Neil has obviously had a bollocking. He has more passion and commitment to the club in his little finger than all those prats on the board put together.
If Neil had been given all the proceeds (less the Spurs bit) from the sale of AT and the freedom to use it as he wished, then I would have been happy for him to be sold. This nonsense has gone on too long. I don't think he will be with us for the whole season.

I'll have to get back to you on the Warnock thing & you know my opinions against defending the manager at all costs against people that dont understand football. That Taarabt thing is brilliant news, absolutely brilliant news, I really am not sure exactly how good a player he is, I'm unconvinced about whether he can do what he did last season in the Premier League & he definately cant be indulged the way he was last season, but to see if he can prove himself in a QPR shirt is brilliant news & I am going down the boozer to celebrate, I really do think this is great news & a big shot in the arm for us before the new season. Now things are looking better, Kenny, Faurlin, Taarabt Bothroyd is the spine of a Premiership team, we really need to sort the defence out, but come on lads, this is great news

Think it's going to be a boost to the other players...Now will Faurlin give up his captaincy!
You know beyond how good they've been as actual managers - I've felt many of our managers have cared more about the club that the owners!

Just for information so the official site can get it's facts right, Keith Curle is the coach, Mick Jones is assistant manager and Neil Warnock is manager!!!!! Get it right. Typically, they have no idea what people actually do at the club so look out Colin indeed, they've sacked enough people now, shirley!!!!!

i take it as a small victory to Neil , now if we push the boat out capture DJ and winger , two quality defenders and we are in with a sniff of a chance ! like KLR says Kenny , Tarbs, Faur , Bothroyd and Derry is a good spine to keep building around but we need defenders to stay up.

Warnock has forced their hand and has come out on top in the PR war. It's good news, isn't it? Let's hope so, bet it gets right up Briatore's nose that Colin has the final say on players coming in. Briatore also knows that Colin won't stay schtum if he's badly treated or lied to!!!! Guess he is proving to be exactly the right man for the job! ;D Anyway, I'm pleased Taarabt is staying, just need a kit for him to wear now!

Taarabt staying at QPR Move to PSG falls through as Rangers keep hold of skipper
Taarabt: Staying at Loftus Road this summer despite interest from PSG QPR have announced captain Adel Taarabt will be staying at Loftus Road this summer despite speculation over his future
Taarabt has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain this summer with the French club making a bid for the playmaker.
Both clubs are thought to have held talks this week about a possible deal, but it appears the deal has broken down.
QPR have confirmed the Moroccan will now remain at the club for the start of the new season as they prepare for life back in the Premier League
The 22-year-old has established himself as a key member of the QPR since since arriving on loan from Tottenham in the summer of 2009 before making the move permanent a year later.
Taarabt skippered QPR to Championship success last term and was named as Football League player of the year following a string of impressive performances.
News that Taarabt will be staying at the club will come as a massive boost to Rangers boss Neil Warnock as the big kick-off draws ever closer.
"We are pleased to confirm that Adel Taarabt will be staying at QPR this summer," read a statement on behalf of majority shareholders Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore.
"Despite receiving a substantial bid for our Moroccan international, we rebuffed all approaches and indeed, we are keen to build for the future in the Barclays Premier League, and not sell one of our prized assets."
Denial Warnock suggested earlier this week that he was unlikely to get any of the funds from any sale of Taarabt, but Ecclestone and Briatore have moved to reject the suggestion by claiming money would have been available for new faces if Taarabt ended up being sold.
"Should we have decided to sell Taarabt this summer, we made it clear to Neil Warnock that we would reinvest funds into the squad," continued the statement.
"We are pleased to confirm that Adel Taarabt will be staying at QPR this summer."
QPR's statement on Adel Taarabt Quotes of the week "Taarabt is fully committed to the club and is looking forward to proving his undoubted star quality for QPR in the Barclays Premier League.
"Our decision not to sell him only serves to reiterate the ambition and commitment we have both shown to QPR since we arrived here.
"We saved the club when it was close to relegation from the Championship and just one week from liquidation.

"Welsh international Danny Gabbidon has impressed the coach whilst on trial and we are aiming to add him, as well as at least one or two other players to our squad in the near future."
Support The statement also reiterated the board's support for manager Warnock, although Ecclestone and Briatore confirmed that they have spoken to the former Sheffield United boss about toning down his comments to the media.
"Neil Warnock is our coach and we are working closely with him in a professional and confidential manner to try to achieve our aims and objectives," the statement added.
"The coach's job is to coach the squad and identify players he believes will improve the squad. As a board, we deal with all the negotiations and we have been successful in completing deals for Bothroyd and Dyer so far.
"We are aware of some issues that have been raised in the press by the coach, but we have discussed these with him internally and he has agreed to be more reserved in terms of what he discusses in the future.

From now on stop all negativity on this board. We have not weaken, we have plenty of time to add a couple of players in addition and except the ticket prices and the little money offered to Warnock, things are not so bad arent they?
