Last night we posted the link of Grace's website onto the Fan's Network, "Loft for Words", this is QPR's supporters website. The response has been truly phenomenal. Pay Pal donations have been arriving all day, there are cheques in the post. The words of encouragement and support have been fantastic. On top of that Grace appeared in today's match programme in the "message board". "We are QPR" has never been so relevant, we thank every single one of you. What a tremendous club to be a part of. Come on U'RRRRRRRRR's. www.gracemurphysdrfund.webeden.co.uk/#

The operation is performed at the St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri. Dr Park has been performing this operation for over 28 years, he has operated on over 2,000 children with a 100% success rate. My son has a mild form of Cerebral Palsy (hemiplegia), which is a different form to the Spastic Diplegia. This is the reason behind my stupid idea to cycle to austria in april - to raise money for SCOPE.
I would like to wish all the luck in the world to Grace and her family, and I hope they reach the target.

Fulham Chronicle QPR fans dig deep to help disabled Grace Jan 12 2011 By Greg Burns Add a commentRecommend Grace Murphy, Eddie Murphy and Teddy Murphy. A DISABLED QPR season-ticket holder has become a mini-celebrity at Loftus Road after fans pledged thousands to help send the youngster for a life-changing operation. Hundreds of charitable Rangers fans have dug deep for spare cash after Christmas and New Year and donated £4,000 in just one week to held pay to send Grace Murphy, seven, to America. Grace, who has been going to Loftus Road with her dad Eddie for two years, has cerebral palsy and needs £40,000 to pay for a selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) operation at the St Louis Children's Hospital. The donations have flooded in after her fundraising campaign was highlighted in the Championship club's matchday programme and website. And even Hoops boss Neil Warnock and his players have promised to donate and praised his club's fans for their support. Warnock told the Chronicle: "The QPR supporters are incredibly loyal and there is a real feeling of togetherness amongst them which is something we are extremely proud of. "The way in which they have thrown their financial support behind young Grace, particularly at such a difficult time of year, is fantastic and says so much about the supporters we have. "The players here have all been made aware of Grace's plight, and it has really touched them. They are in the process of organising their own donation which will further help Grace reach her goal." Grace, who lives in Surrey, is hoping to be able to fly to the US in July for the SDR operation which will help separating some of the sensory nerves in her spine. She said: "At the moment I wear leg splints everyday to help me with my balance. I can walk but get tired very easily, I often trip and fall. "I find normal everyday things really hard, like getting up and down the stairs, getting into mummy's car and going up and down steps." Mother Claudette, 40, said: "We have been saving to send Grace for an operation in America which would improve her quality of life considerably. "We posted the link on the off-chance and we have been bowled over. We have had emails offering money, cheques in the post and payments online. Everyday I get more and more and it is absolutely wonderful. "We are lost for words, to be honest, with the generosity of the Rangers fans. Some of them don't even give us their names so we don't even know who to thank. But we want to thank every single person who has helped us. "It is astonishing how the club and the fans have got behind one little girl. We can never fully express our gratitude." A link for donations on the Loft for Words fans' forum on January 2 has attracted more than 3,000 hits with supporters all rallying behind the cause. Charlie1 said: "Touching stuff. Very best of luck with the fundraising," while antonknee64 said: "Great job Ed, fantastic to see you're doing things for your angel of a daughter Grace, hope our donation helps and will keep regular updates on your website." kingsburyR, said: "Although you are not after pity reading your website brought a tear to my eye! I will donate today. Good luck fella and give Grace a hug from me!!!" dermyQPR, said: "happy to have sent some money for your little angel. Good luck to Grace and all your family." Fulham Chronicle/Greg Burns QPR fans take Grace's fundraising total past £20,000 QPR fan Grace Murphy is even closer to a life-changing operation in America after Hoops fans pushed her fundraising kitty to £20,000 in a fortnight. Grace, seven, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has touched the hearts of Rangers fans who have dug deep to pledge money to send her for the operation. Since featuring on fans' forums, club website and the Chronicle two week's ago, the Murphy family have been overwhelmed with donations. Season-ticket holder Grace and mother Claudette, 40, of Sunbury, were at Loftus Road on Sunday as fans filled cash collection buckets during their 2-1 home win over Coventry which raised more than £2,000. And they also received a £6,000 cheque from the charitable arm of London & Southern Counties Region of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors which has moved them halfway towards their £40,000 target. The extraordinary generosity in W12 is edging Grace closer towards flying to the US in July for a selective rhizotomy (SDR) operation at the St Louis Children Hospital which will help separate some of the sensory nerves in her spine. Mrs Murphy said: "Apparently, a QPR fan works for the federation and recommended us to their charity. And they thought it was a great cause. "We are speechless really and it is astonishing. To think that we are halfway to our total and only have our first fundraiser at the end of February is amazing. "The bucket collection went really well and since Sunday we have also seen a surge in donations online. People were coming up to us and saying they had read about Grace in the Chronicle and it was all very over-whelming but fantastic. "Everyone seemed to know who Grace was and she kept asking me if they were friends of her dad. But I told her that, at QPR, everybody are friends. She also told me she has changed her mind about being a pop-star because she is not sure if she likes being famous. "We are just so thankful to everyone for their support and completely bowled over." Grace's next appearance at QPR will be on Sunday, February 13 when, joined by her brother Teddy, two, she will lead her heroes out as a mascot in their Championship game against Nottingham Forest. Beautiful photos Young Grace enjoys mascot experience at QPR as fundraising hits £28,000Greg Burns - Fulham Chronicle Feb 22 2011 YOUNG Grace Murphy may have become an mini-celebrity in W12 but her fame went national after starring as a mascot at a QPR game beamed across the country on Sky. The seven-year-old, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has won the hearts of Rangers fans after her family launched a campaign to raise £40,000 to send her for a life-changing operation in America. Grace and her brother Teddy, two, led out their beloved team before their crunch Championship game with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, February 13. The game was televised to millions across the world and Grace was also presented with a signed shirt with her name on the back by defender Peter Ramage. Her mother Claudette, 40, said: "The mascot day was fantastic and both of the children had a wonderful time. "They both played on the pitch, met with Sparks (club mascot) and sat in the home dug out. Just before kick-off Peter Ramage presented Grace with a signed shirt and they had put the number seven and her name on the back. "It is now taking pride of place in her bedroom, and her daddy has his orders to make a frame as soon as possible." The overwhelmed family have been stunned by the response they have received after QPR and the Chronicle highlighted their fundraising goals. Fans have donated in their thousands while a bucket collection last month also raised £2,000. Grace looks on course to fly to the St Louis Children's Hospital in July for a selective rhizotomy (SDR) operation to separate some of the sensory nerves in her spine. In just six weeks, generous fans have coughed up £28,407 and continue to dig deep. On Saturday, March 5 a 'Dart's Night For Grace' event will be held in the Springbok pub, in South Africa Road from 7.30pm onwards. Mrs Murphy said: "Our fundraising events are now in full flow and tickets for these events are proving popular, which is great and also reassuring. "We continue to be blown away by the generosity of fans. We feel very blessed and lucky."
