Goal.com - Robben, Sneijder And Guti Out Of Real Madrid Squad The trio will not face Sporting Gijon this weekend... Real Madrid will be without three key players for their trip to El Molinon to face Sporting Gijon this weekend. AS reports that Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Guti are not included in the squad, along with Christoph Metzelder, who is still injured. It is not yet known when Guti will return to action with Madrid, but he is yet to play this year and is still struggling with injury. He is likely to find it hard to get back into the team too, with Lassana Diarra and Fernando Gago proving to be a strong partnership in the centre of midfield. The absence of Robben and Sneijder will be a blow to Juande Ramos though, especially with the former in such good form this season. Like Guti, they both have slight injuries, and will not play any part in the game on Sunday. For the first time since his return from Queens Park Rangers, Dani Parejo is in the squad, whilst Jerzy Dudek returns after recovering from injury too. Royston Drenthe, who claimed yesterday that he will try to succeed at the club, is left out by the coach, whilst Javier Saviola is in after scoring a hat-trick in a reserve game in the week. Real Madrid squad to face Sporting Gijon: Casillas, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Lass, Raúl, Gago, Saviola, Marcelo, Heinze, Dani Parejo, Faubert, Huntelaar, Higuaín, Miguel Torres, Javi García, Dudek, Bueno. www.goal.com/en/news/1705/real-madrid/2009/02/14/1109194/robben-sneijder-and-guti-not-in-real-madrid-squad

www.qprdot.org (I've always felt that if I see something on another QPR site, which is not obviously "out there" should attribute it. Obviously not everyone does that But then again, I've always felt if there's something of interest out there, should post re that, even if it entails linking to another QPR site Again that's a view that's not universally held

Ah ha ! Goal.com - Daniel Parejo Pleased With Real Madrid DebutHaving been recalled from loan in England, Dani Parejo did not have to wait long for Juande Ramos to give him his chance in Spain, making his debut for Real Madrid on Sunday against Sporting de Gijon. Daniel Parejo was delighted to make his debut for Real Madrid on Sunday and hopes that he can help the team to close the gap at the top of the table to Barcelona if the leaders start to slip. The 19-year-old saw his loan deal at Queens Park Rangers cut short last month as Juande Ramos was keen to use his talents in Spain. The coach gave the midfielder his first chance to shine at the weekend. Despite only having ten minutes at the end of Madrid's four-goal triumph against Sporting de Gijon, Parejo was very pleased and hopes that it is the start of things to come for him. "I am very happy to have made my debut and I will work hard to earn more playing time," AS quote him as saying. "We also must be happy because we won comfortably at a [ground] that can be very difficult [to succeed at]." Barca dropped two points at the weekend to allow Madrid to make up some ground at the top of the table and Parejo believes that could happen again. "We are aware that Barca are ten points ahead and we hope that they begin to feel the pressure," he continued. "There is still a long way to go and we must believe that we have a chance because Barcelona slipped-up after the international games. "Juande has said to us that we have to stay on this path and that we are still growing."
