LIVE MATCHDAY SHOW Posted on: Fri 10 Sep 2010 This weekend QPR Player will be trialling a live radio show from 2pm, building up to our match against Middlesbrough at Loftus Road. Needless to say, we will be providing live commentary of the match itself and will also continue the show after the final whistle, discussing the key points from the game as well as looking at other results in the npower Championship. Our intention is to have phone-ins from supporters, giving YOU the chance to air your views to fellow fans. For this weekend, however, you can share your comments with the studio from 2pm by e-mailing qprplayer@qpr.co.uk In order to listen, all you have to do is look out for the 'LIVE MATCHDAY SHOW' article which will appear here on the official website on Saturday. Please note, this is a trial show. We anticipate teething problems but welcome your feedback to qprplayer@qpr.co.uk To subscribe to QPR Player for just £3.99 a month, click here. www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2149722,00.html

Call in: "I have a question about Gianni" Host: "Are you anti-QPR?"
Let me put it this way...If it should turn out to be one particular individual..
Regardless of whether or not he is someone good on radio (always a subjective judgement), there is one individual, whose actions and statements and tolerance for certain kinds of postings, make him very clearly someone with whom the club should be having no official link.

Anyone listened?
I believe yesterday was Brian Melzac...
Presumably that "other person" will be in a couple of weeks. And given this is a club production, our club is implicitly associating itself ...

well to be honest that is why Brian is proved to not be truthful when he says he does not take sides and why that show will never see the light of day.
Anyway we won so feck em all
Also the other person has been being used by the clubs press officer for ages they even put him forward to the press and also leaks are phoned straight to him.

...why that show will never see the light of day.... On this part of your comment, Paul, I think you will be proven mistaken. Brian's committed to making it available online, tomorrow.

I hope to be able to download the audio tomorrow night and upload on tuesday,if all goes well The Saturday programme is in trial at the moment and hopefully be launched fully in a couple of weeks. We had some good feedback yesterday when we did the preview the hour before. I will not be at the Doncaster game but will be back for millwall. Rob Brennan who was co presenting also does the commentary for the blind supporters who are at the game, he is QPR through and through and hope that we can make the programme succesful in future weeks ,no other club does this ,so your support would be greatly appreciated.

Does that mean I need to renew my subscription for QPR World? Assuming it's a good show (and doesn't take sides/try to push a line/stifle a view) I personally wish you and Rob Brennan luck with the broadcast.. But I guess far more "interesting" is if WATRB's QBLockPete is also be involved with this club-supported broadcast.

thanks Brian for that but you have promised that show so many times i will hope this time you are telling the truth.
More of an issue is this line
Call in: "I have a question about Gianni" Host: "Are you anti-QPR?"
That is well one word shocking

Just to be absolutely clear, Finney: That was simply a Macmoish "HYPOTHETICAL" of a possible future broadcast (not involving Rootbeer) based on experience of past posts by a certain person. This is NOT what happened in Saturday's broadcast.

Tuned in just after 2.05pm, and just as i sat down to see what the new radio show was all about it all went dead, silence, zilch, zero nothing cam over the airwaves.
The Player website has been slow and very frustrating at the best of times, but to plug a new trial show and it just goes dead is poor. I shall try and listen in again at some point to see what it is all about. In the meantime i suggest they try and make the website run much more efficiently.
From what i have read above the two co-presenters are rootbeer aka Brian Melzack and Rob Brennan (same person as OnFM Bren?), are these two the ones who will be presenting?

As described by Qblock Pete on WATRB QPR Live Match day Show..A regular Feature -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Did anyone catch this on Saturday?? Having been in Cuba, did not have much time to listen. The aim at the moment is to provide a show which starts at 2pm and finshes around 6pm. The club plan to involve ex-players and no doubt add to the match-day experience. I am sure the next home game against Doncaster Rovers will have some teething problems, but should be fully functional by the time we play Millwall.\\ Brian and myself discussed the idea with the club and its great for them to accept, as will create interaction between fan and club. At the moment the idea is for home games, but no doubt in time it will be expanded It is so good the club have taken on board the ideas to exapnd the profile of the club especially for fans who cannot make games. The plan in the long term is to bring a show for away games, it might turn out, we do a show late Saturday evening from the ground or Sunday.\ The power of the internet and technology now enables you to broadcast l;ive through QPR Player With the club going through such a great spell, it would be hoped that something like this will be a positive, wouldn't expect anyone to see a negative side and hopefully this will lead to more fan interaction, bring the fans more depth coverage in the immediate term for home games, but in the longer term away games. Anyone that misses the show especially answering questions or interviews, a podcast is planned to be put up shortly afterwards. The club, and The Match day show team are keen on making this idea work, up to date its been a matter of turning on QPR Player at 3pm and having it finish at 450pm, this way it will be purely QPR before and after. Many times it can be so irratating trying to get QPR coverage, but getting none or getting coverage of other teams on the radio before our club is even metioned !!, through these programmes it will be possible to have full QPR coverage leading to phone ins etc etc, its even conceivable that we could broadcast this in the ground too at a later date If any supporter has any ideas on how this idea can be expanded, we would very much like to hear from you. You rrrrrrrrrrr'ssssssssssssss www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75419

At least my thoughts that Brian helped Pete and Funky to smear me and indyrs and report on his radio show have well been proved right. But sure it was pete that said overseas fans who dont go to games should not talk about QPR. Ironic or what

Not being funny here but i hope never to catch the show, regardless of who is on it as I hope to be at the games. If I cannot attend I might listen but Hogan is right about QPR Player and it's reliability. This would need to be addressed.
What would make it worthwhile would be to beam the actual game rather than a commentary to overseas fans. I fully understand the issues of showing live three o clock kick offs but in this day and age it is technically simple to ensure only overseas viewers can see it.
We should also be providing far superior highlight shows than we currently do. Lots of clubs do this already and the game could even be delay fed at 5pm for example.

I usually get good audio on player and the video quality is excellent. If they showed every QPR game live video, I'd be happy to pay 50 quid a year for it. 46 league games live. Would need to upgrade my 5 gig cap tho!
