www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_6278913,00.html I say good for him. So many players need a fresh start somewhere else. Never the same after leg was broken in practice and Managergate.

Dont understand the hate here.
Very good player who was superb for Rangers for a period, no matter how brief, he was the fulcrum of the team.
He has every right to be P!ssed off, when it looks more than likely that the club has been negligent in his rehabilitation.
I wish him all the best & would like to see him playing for Rangers the way he did at his marauding best in late 2007 / early 2008, Cook is finished, but I'm not going to write Vine off just yet, I would send him out to Palace, I reckon that would be a good place for him to go & they would be happy with that as well, dont right this player off just yet, he is a good player, of that I have no doubts whatsoever.

Agree, treated Disgracefully by many fans on message boards.

I'm not so sure we can lay the blame for him not returning to the same form after such an horrific injury on the club in the form of questioning the rehabilitation care provided by QPR.
He returned in good time to full strength and was played in the first team. It's not uncommon for a footballer to lose his form after such a serious injury and when he did play you could see the frustration he had with himself when it became apparent he had lost his ability in front of goal.
He needs a regular first team place and maybe leaving him out of the squad served to help him realise that he needs to drop down a league in order to get it. He seemed to refuse that idea last season but hopefully he is more amiable to it now.
Our main problem would be someone to cover his wages as he came to us from a Premiership side so he will be on a higher rate of pay than most, hopefully something can be sorted out that will benefit all involved, even if we have to pay a large part of it. Now that we are not paying for Helguson to score for Watford, it would actually be progression for us to pay for one of our strikers to play for a team that is not actually in our league.

i dont hate rowan vine i think he was a really good player but imo i dont think he will ever be the player he was! his weekly wage per week must be massive so i think it would at this time be good for him and the club to part company. What ever he does and where ever he goes i wish him all the best!

In some respects I agree with most. I must say, Vine's treatment and rehabilitation from his original injury was poor and he was definitely rushed back before he was ready and shock result, he broke down again.
Equally and sadly, he is no longer a part of the first team plans, quite obviously and I don't blame him for wanting away.
A loan is probably for the best as I doubt we can sell him, may have to pay 50% of his salary though in the Helguson rubadub stylie.

As Asupporter we always have players who have been good in peaks throughout there careers , i like most thought vine was a good player at Brum and came to Rangers and played well assisting Ageymang well through that first period ! Now we have to be a little realistic though if we keep Vine then we might as well keep Ageymang as he too has had a spell where he impressed for a while ! Same goes for Hall, Helguson and a few others but surely we all Agree Vine is no longer the player he was , not 100 % convinced its our fault with rehab ?Could well be but we are at the stage now where we need to let some of these players depart if we are to move forward as a club we simply can not just keeping buying new and holding on to the others for sentimental reasons ! Iwill personally be upset when Cookie , Rowly , Vine go at some time over the next one /two years but we must move on now ! Perhaps im being a bit harsh on Vine but i thought on a personal level the injuries have hampered him and hes performances seemed a little lacklustre or even just going through the motions at times ! I guess we wait and see what happens this week but if we sign Henderson and maybe get Simpson on loan again and Vine/Agey move on then i say thanks for everything you have done for us now its time to move on ! Isuppose in an ideal world we dont even want players who are genius,s but players that give you 100 % week in week out which i think Neil is now going to be looking for !

The clubs treated his rehab badly and I can inderstand that he is annoyed over that. But not going to Italy and throwing the toys out of tyhe cot? F***sake man, grow up, put your head down and practice hard. Take it on the chin like a real man. You didn't go because for most of last season when you were playing, you didn't score. Not the clubs fault, not really yours, just one of those things. I think for the most part fans have been quite patient considering the wages and non result..
Vine, get back into practicing your shooting and instead of shooting your mouth off, shoot some goals - Then you will be taken more seriously.

What sort of money would we be looking at?
Any ideas of weekly wages too?

All I've seen from Vine is a distinct lack of effort and motivation. Even playing with a niggling problem wouldn't disguise the lack of desire. Seaman and Fenwick played brilliantly for us but wanted out and are now roundly derided for it. Don't understand this Vine love in one iota for 3 or 4 decent games at £12k a week.

Blimey Mag , Youve kept Ambrose , you want to Keep Clyne and you want Vine aswell ! Cake and eat it comes to mind ! I would say buy him if you can afford him , we will make a loss whatever happens , but not a loan deal ! never think its good business to loan to a team in the same Division always have a habit of haunting you when you do this ! There again though i think there is a strong contingency at QPR that want to keep him for another season and give him one last go to prove himself at the club !

Well, "proof" I dunno but his initial injury was not operated on, he worked his way back, broke down and had to have an operation. I remember it well and someone I know told me about Vine's state at the time. I am certainly not going into a Vine love in, if he wants to go, fair play to him as we could do with the money to pay someone else. Therefore, let him go if we can. I thought he was on £14k so we've save two grand a week already! ;D Also, Sinton is the only player I have derided for leaving for the reasons he did.

You could also argue it the other way (forget the injury/whether it was treated correctly): Here is a player who is saying he is NOT prepared to sit in the reserves and draw a very healthy wage.

I hope we are going to be happy bunnies over the next 2 weeks with the right players coming in and the right ones going out ! At the end of the day we all want the best for Rangers but i guess some of the ones we want to depart are still going to drag on a bit longer ! It really is bad about these long contracts that were set up , these contracts alone go along way to destabilising a club dont they ! Come on onwards we go ! ORR , MAC , HENDERSON with Taarabt or Simpson aswell on loan way still get us to 5th ! IF WE JUST SIGNED A WONDER STRIKER THOUGH , ONE YOU NEVER IMAGINED WHAT YOU DO WHEN YOU RAELISED ??
