re Jermaine Beckford "Watford to Decide on Non-Leaguer"
From Wealdstone's site - January 29, 2006
"There was a short mention of Jermaine Beckford's trial with QPR in the sports section of the Daily Mirror on Friday. It said that he was going for a trial with QPR and that he had gone there for a trial two years ago but was turned down because of a suspect temperament
"Jermaine Beckford has trained with both QPR and Wycombe Wanderers this week. Beckford aged 22, is the leading scorer in the Ryman Premier League and has scored more than 30 goals in all competitions.
Stones boss Gordon Bartlett said, "Jermaine has created lots of interest. A dozen clubs from the Coca-Cola League have sent scouts to our games. His scoring record this year is phenomemal and he has matured a lot as a player. In fact, Jermaine's partnership with Richard Jolly is fantastic. They both compliment each other and their goals ratio has been incredible when you consider that we are not in the top half of the table". Wealdstone
