Bump...10 years ago today... Thank you again, Neil Warnock....Saved us from relegation...got us promoted as Champions...in 15 months.. YES Barnsley 44 53 -15 52 QPR 43 51 -8 56 Scu.nthorpe 43 50 -21 55 Watford 43 48 -13 54 Crystal Palace * 44 47 -3 47 Sheff Wed 44 46 -19 45 1-1 FT v Sheff Utd Plymouth 43 41 -19 42 Peterborough 44 31 -34 44 [And to anyone questioning...Sheff Wed play Palace last game... The following day QPR Official Site - April 19, 2010
A measured responseNeil Warnock spoke of his delight this morning that his QPR side are now guaranteed Championship football next season - but insists it's not something to celebrate. Sheffield Wednesday's failure to beat Steel City rivals Sheffield United on Sunday lunchtime means the R's are now assured of their Championship status. Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Warnock said: "It (safety) was the first objective when we arrived here. "We've reached that and I'm delighted, but let's be perfectly honest, it's not something to harp on about. "It's not exactly something to celebrate. "We should be competing towards the top end of this division with the players we have, but it's been a season of upheaval for one reason or another and now we can look towards next season knowing our Championship status is assured." www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2028724,00.html? Wrong!! they are on 46 we are on 51. They have two left, could get 52, we could lose all three 51.
The Fat Lady will not sing until its mathematically impossible.

London: Sheff Wed Play Palace final game. If Shef Wed win both games, they move up to 52. But if they win both games, that means Palace can only get 50
We're safe!

So now we have a thrilling end to the season, Watford has to win against us, Palace and Wednesday meet in the last round, wow. And the best of all, we don't have to worry about any of those results!

But the Wednesday v Palace match is like a cup tie game for both teams, that we can sit back and enjoy.

Yes - at last - mathematically safe coz both Wednesday and Palace can NOT get maximum 6 points thanks to the league fixture list throwing them together on Sunday week!
And now Uncle Neil can start fulfilling his promise of playing the kids - leaving out the loanees (bye, bye Priskin) - and building for an exciting future - HIS future.
Get in there :-D

Bounce bounce - excuse me for not sharing your enthusiasm. So we ar enow safge - big bloody deal. It is a disgrace to all at QPR that we even got into this position in the first place.
A club with our so called backers should be at the other end of the table - along with Blackpool, Swansea and Doncaster Rovers - not worrying that we should be joining the Posh for a season of Div 3 football.
And I tell you this - if the Mittals have not learnt from the mistakes of Briatore, and if they continue to keep that waste of space Paladini then expect more of teh same next season.
So yes I'm glad that we are safe but don't expect me to celebrate.

When there's a vested interest, which there clearly has been in one case, it tends to skew perspective.

Also "On This Day" 47 Years ago: 16 Year Old Martyn Busby makes his QPR Debut in the last game of the season at Leicester.
(Les Allen's QPR lost 2-1)
The first half of that season was great....including two great cup runs, till in both cases beaten by the eventual cup winners (Man City & Chelsea)
A brilliant Marsh and Bridges and Venables doing everything on the file
Then last 2-3 months lot of disappointing results.. and then sold Frank Clarke
