Does anyone remember the awful song rangers used to run out around late 70,s early 80,s? I think it was written and performed by mike batt of the wombles fame! The words were something along the lines of ' RANGERS QUEENS PARK RANGERS LOVE YOU THATS WHAT WE DO' with a chrous of ' COME ON YOU HOOPS, SUPER DOOPER HOOPS'! Pig-bag it wasnt it was bloody awful. Everytime my beloved r,s run out onto the pitch to that dirge I cringe at what the away fans must think of us! So was this just a bad dream or was it real? Attachments:

Yeah, it was real, I remember it.
Terrible at the time but I might get a bit misty eyed if I heared it now.

Also, around this era, (early 80's) they used to play 'Singing The Blues' at the end of the game. I know there are several versions, perhaps some of our more 'senior' members would be able to recall whose it was.... Guy someone?

Thank you Mark, I think the old man's got it on a 78.
Would have asked him but i happen to know he's having a Guinness in a small establishment in South harrow, and ringing my mum would be a total waste of time. She likes Jim Reeves.

Sorry CPR, there are so many more 'professional'writers about whom i would dare not challenge, however, this is what I wrote earlier:
Well, just got in after chicken and chips and dropping off my son.
Can't give you an in depth match report, (taking a 4 year old to football is like herding cats), there are plenty of others who do it so much better anyway.
Suffice to say, well pleased with a well earned point in a hostile atmosphere.
Gotta say, defence still gave me a few squeeky bum moments, but not half as many as earlier in the season.
As I have said before, NW wasn't my choice of manager, but have to say fair play, he's sorted them out good and proper.
You Rrrrsss!
oh, And I predicted 1-1 as well. Get in.
Enjoy your beverage of choice this evening knowing that you support a team that isn't a complete and utter shambles unlike earlier this season.
My aim is to get the 'feeling' over rather than the facts and figures. We done alright today, no matter what the press may say. The away end felt good, and we nicked a well deserved point off a load of knobs that reckoned that 'should' have had all 3 points. They shouldn't. We got what we deserved.
Well done to all in hooped atire. Including me and minnie me!! ;D

Wasn't it by the Loftus Road Runners? Think it was a double A side with "Put Your Foot On The Gas And Drive Me Down To QPR!" Will see if I can find my copy.....

PM me your email address and I'll email you the MP3 of it if you want or an iPhone ringtone file if you have an iPhone. I've got the B-side as well if you want it! A classic!
