philips was one of my predictions on your thread harlow, because of exactly that reason, agyemang out, so need a impact sub, makes sense . He would give us a lot of fire power up front when we need it, I know he's getting on , but i truly believe he could do that job till the end of the season.

Of course that's probably approaching 80,000+ pounds a week in wages (forget any loan fees)

Can't help but think we're writing off a very talented striker in McCarthy and IF FIT he may be the most talent striker we've had in a decade...I get a Furlongesque feeling about him

The good news: If we end up not signing him, it's because Warnock doesn't rate him. Not because we don't want him.

Its all possible ! Think NW will go back to Spurs next week for Woodgate or there midfielder who scored against Charlton ! Harry liked the way we played Walker every game , think Neil and him see eye to eye which is good! Whatever happens we are going to be stronger now!

McCarthy nears QPR switchwww.football365.co.za/story/0,22162,14341_6672733,00.html .West Ham hitman Benni McCarthy is set to hold talks with Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock on Wednesday. The 33-year-old found the back of the net in a trial game for the London club in a behind-closed-doors reserve clash against Tottenham on Tuesday afternoon. The Bafana Bafana striker showed some impressive touches despite QPR going down 9-2 to a strong Spurs outfit. Recent reports suggest that the Championship outfit are set to take out-of-favour Hammers striker on loan and pay some of his £50,000-a-week salary, with the option of a permanent move should they secure promotion to the Premier League. The former Blackburn Rovers frontman has made just 3 starts for the Hammers since joining them almost a year ago as weight issues have plagued his time at Upton Park.

Tottenham’s Carling Cup winning Jonathan Woodgate played in a friendly against QPR yesterday.
Harry Redknapp was quoted saying he’d never seen so many scouts at a practise match.
John Cross of The Mirror suggested on the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show on Talksport this morning that QPR could well be the favoured Championship side to step in and offer Woodgate a part season loan in which to rehabilitate himself before returning to the Premiership.
Previously Cardiff and Leeds were mentioned but there’s little doubt that Neil Warnock would be an admirable baby sitter in lieu of Harry.

So we were wrong about the goal scorers, I say again, this club does my bleeding head in JEPSON: A GREAT WORK OUT Posted on: Wed 19 Jan 2011 Ronne Jepson saw his young Reserves come up against a strong Tottenham side at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday afternoon. The hosts, who had Jonathan Woodgate, Jamie O'Hara, Giovani, Niko Kranjcar and Robbie Keane in their starting line-up, ran out 9-2 winners, but Jepson was pleased with the work out it gave the likes of Romone Rose, Michael Doughty and Michael Harriman, while Lee Cook and Heidar Helguson both played the opening half. "It was great for some of our younger lads to play against that calibre of opponent," Jepson told www.qpr.co.uk. "We were short in defensive areas, which is why we borrowed two Spurs players to play as centre backs. I think they were scared to kick Robbie! "On a serious note, it was a great work-out." Heidar Helguson (pen) and George Tofas were on target for the R's, while Ryan Mason, Kranjcar, Keane (2), Giovani (2), Nathan Byrne, Simon Dawkins and Cameron Lancaster found the net for the hosts. "It was a bit of a mix-and-match because we had a few trialists in, which you tend to in January," Jepson added. "It enabled us to have a decent look at them against good opposition. "If we were going there to win the game, we wouldn't be using two opposing players as our centre backs. "It was good of Spurs to let us have the two of them because it enabled the game to go ahead. "It was beneficial for both sides. They were able to give match time to some of their lads, and our younger boys got to see the tempo these players play the game at. "Overall, it was a good exercise."
