I've hated Bob Latchford ever since! My father gave me heaps when that was on TV and he's not a fan of any club in particular although he has a soft spot for Stockport County.

I was in Cleveland Ohio...No shortwave radio...Sunday morning reading just the scores in the local columbus paper...
One of those results that wasn't just disappointing or heartbreaking. But truly shocking... (And as a QPR Fan, it takes a lot to be shocked by a QPR score)

I was at that game and stood behind the goal.
What made it worse was that Frank Smith was a friend of mine.
He was then sold to Wimbledon. Shame really as the season before he had a very good time between the posts and even played with a broken jaw after Alex Stock begged him to carry on.

I was there with a Brentford Supporting schoolfriend. We were really dreadful that day.
Funny thing is that Brentford got relegated at the end of that season and QPR came third, just too late to pip the top two (Millwall + Hull(??) ). Rodney joined us about 3/4 of the way through the season (around March 1966 if I recall).

And no Managerial Axing of Alec Stock even after the 6-1 Loss
I've always found amazing - and so unlike today - that Alec Stock kept his managerial job - even though had 6-7 years of "Failing" to get QPR Promoted...
That's the true meaning of stability
