Philip Beard: "We're working hard"
By Liam Apicella, Staff Reporter Filed: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 15:51 UK Last Updated: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 15:58 UK Queens Park Rangers chief executive Philip Beard has insisted that everybody connected with the club is keen to reverse their recent fortunes.
The R's are winless this season and are bottom of the Premier League, which in turn has resulted in speculation that manager Mark Hughes will be sacked over the coming days.
However, outside of the club's training ground this afternoon, Beard told Sky Sports News that Hughes and his team are "working hard" to get their campaign on track.
"I spend a lot of time at the training ground," he said. "We're working hard and we want to turn it around. We want to do that because that is important for the fans."

What Mr Beard are you busy working on?
Bullshitting the fans with your your usual crap stories and promises? Treating the fans like complete idiots as you have done all damn season with all the patronising comments coming from all sources at QPR? Trying your damndest in keeping a waste of space at QPR when just about everybody else can see that he has lost the plot a long time ago? Procrastinating for as long as possible so that you can save a fortune in the long term - at the expnse of our long term future - as we will have to keep Mr Waste of Sapce as there are no laternative replacemenst out there, because they have taken up other jobs or refuse to destroy their reputation taking on a task that is beyond redemption? Or maybe you are working hard to break Derby County's record?
Whatever you are working hard on Mr P Bloody Beard you sure as hell are not working hard to kick arse where it is needed and do the necessary to get this club back in order so that even Barnet fans don't laugh at us. In short you are not working hard at all unless it is to humiliate QPR - and their fans - even further.
So either shut the hell up and do something or get the hell out.
One very pissed off & frustrated QPR fan who has just about had enough with all the is patronising talk from mercenaries and clueless idiots who don't have a clue.

Nomar I hear what you say but I have just about had enough of all the BS coming out of QPR right now. And, judging by comments all over the QPR world, I am definitely not alone wth those feelings.
Even Stevie Wonder can see that we are now in a deep crisis and while I don't expect them to give us all the details, I sure as hell don't want them to question the intelligence of all fans by pretending that all is okay and give us BS stories and promises similar to what has just been sprouted now.

I'm working hard too, anyone else also working hard?
What a meaningless thing to say if you don't go into specifics...

The money these players are on I'd expect them to be working hard! I am sick of hearing these overpaid prima donnas and megalomaniacs who have a luxury other people dream of not pulling their weight. I wonder how they'd cope as binmen or working in a office all day? They think they are Gods of men because they can kick a ball about.
I am sick of them and if they don't want to be here they can F*** off.

I'd say if something wasnt happening behind the scenes, there wouldn't be this virtual blackout on Twitter by the QPR Staff - short of essentials.
That's my thinking

Sporting LIfe Beard calls for QPR turnaround Last Updated: November 20 2012, 17:46 GMT Queens Park Rangers chief executive Philip Beard insists the club are doing all they can to turn end their miserable run of form. Manager Mark Hughes has come under huge pressure following a start to the season which has seen his side fall four points adrift at the foot of the Premier League table. Hughes remains in control of the side following a disappointing loss to Southampton and took charge of training on Tuesday as the build-up to Saturday's trip to Manchester United begins. Beard, who held a two-hour meeting with Hughes on Monday, was at the training ground again a day later but brushed off suggestions that his presence is part of any increased scrutiny on the manager. "I spend a lot of time at the training ground, it's no different to usual," Beard told Sky Sports News. "We're working hard, we want to turn this around and make sure we do what the fans want, which is to sort ourselves out and get the season back on track." Club backer Din Kamarudin is also in town but Beard says his trip is not related to any decision about Hughes' future. He added: "We've got shareholders and when they come to town they come to the training ground. Din's here for the game on Saturday and is looking forward to it, so preparations are going well. "We are working really hard and we want to turn this season around. It's important we do it for the fans." QPR were quick to deny any talk about Hughes' exit on Monday night and retained that stance on Tuesday, insisting it was "business as usual" and that he had took training. Despite QPR confirming the Welshman remains in charge, odds have continued to shorten on him becoming the first Premier League manager to leave his post and one bookmaker has him as low as 1/10. Sven-Goran Eriksson and Rafa Benitez have been mentioned as potential replacements, although Harry Redknapp is over-riding favourite to replace the Welshman. The 65-year-old has been out of work since leaving Tottenham in the summer and has not hid his desire to return to management. Should QPR part company with Hughes, they could face a battle for Redknapp's signature from an unlikely source as the Football Federation of Ukraine revealed in a statement this afternoon they would like him to succeed Oleg Blokhin as national team manager. www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8262618/beard-calls-for-qpr-turnaround

Oh no, whinge away my good man! This whole scenario is farcical and is making us look like even more of a laughing stock than the so called football on the pitch is. The whole last 12 months of this club has just been abut spin, spin, spin and they just can't help themselves but continue to treat QPR fans as incredibly stupid. I just suspect there's more going on behind the scenes that they're letting on. But knowing this club they are probably waiting for helicopters, fireworks and big budget explosions to accompany any announcement that there may be a change of manager. I'm just going to wait now and see what transpires.

"We're working hard, we want to turn this around and make sure we do what the fans want, which is to sort ourselves out and get the season back on track." Suggests to me that the backing of the chairman and the board has now gone completely. Clever way to backtrack from all the backing (for the millionth time) etc is to make a statement saying exactly the above. Expect that a lot of stuff will be going on behind the scenes and a new man will be ready to be in place after the weekend. Hopefully this time Mssrs Beard and co will have a plan B which stacks up to plan A. Next time a prospective manager interviews the club they had better remember to ask him how much of his salary he is prepared accept on a pay as you achieve basis. Funny how the fans become so important when the chips are down. Read more: qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=34019&page=1#299460#ixzz2Cnsym34P

what really will get up my nose if hughes stays and the board decide to back him is this.
the southampton game has become hughes benchmark, next game at utd we will probably lose 4 or 5 nil, maybe more, but thats expected now isnt it? where as if you go back to the beginning of the season he would have you believe that a point at old trafford would not be unreal, or at least a fighting defeat.
if the board backs the clueless git, we have lowered our goals, our ambitions, our potential. all because the saints game was the lowest of the low, the only way is up now.
i hope our fans do not get suckered into this change.

This for what it's worth, is my perspective which I just tweeted qprreportSo the Pendulum has swung from Spin & positive - even banal - talk, to a "Fortress Mentality" of empty statements & Twitter Silence! #QPR (Cont)- But it shouldn't be like a "Them" in charge & an "Us" - the fans fed select information. It's OUR Club. Our Concern. Our Future

The only way i can see Hughes staying is if we start winning, begining with a win at Old Trafford and then beat Sunderland and Villa. That would buy him plenty of time, and that, would be a remarkable turnaround for Hughes when considering his record at QPR apart from those 5 home wins on the bounce last season, he has been shocking. The board could announce that funding is already in place out of the shareholders own pockets to cover next seasons losses whilst Hughes does what they know/think he is capable of, even if it means a season in the league below, and i cant see that happening. Otherwise i can only see fans doing what they did last Saturday, only louder and for longer. Tony and his boys would in a very short space of time run out of the goodwill of the fans.

Let him go let him tarry let him sink or let him swim. Finish 20th 29th, 10th. whatever you can do bluesy Hughesy. Or whoever manages, much nisht. Weve lost 12 in a row we can lose 15,16 in a row. The world wont come to an end. I know you cant understand why we lost to Soton. Dont worry your little head.
