I know some people saw this; but I thought it was very nice. Maybe QPR (and other clubs) could emulate in some way.

Good to hear. It would be good if our club, and its wealthy investors, did something special for the disaster fund too. I am sure we would all welcome it.

West Brom (sponsor free shirt) had the DEC details on their shirts when they were on live. Seems to be raising lots of funds but not getting the aid through at the moment though, hope that improves soonest. Edit: Just noticed, WBA mentioned in the league article.

Way to go Charlton Football League - CHARLTON RAISE £7K FOR H4H Posted on: 11.02.2010 Charlton Athletic have helped raise over £7,500 for Help for Heroes and the Army Benevolent Fund following their game against Leyton Orient last month. The match, which was also shown live on Sky, saw troops, wounded servicemen and veterans invited to The Valley on a night that generated £7,582.97 for the two Forces charities. Bucket collections prior to kick-off and at half-time, plus the auctioning of an executive box for the game on eBay raised the incredible total. Addicks Chief Executive Steve Waggott said: "It's a great sum of money and I'd like to thank all those who generously contributed. "I know everyone who attended the game who was involved in the military in some way really appreciated the reception they received as well, and it was a memorable night for the club, even though the result didn't go our way on the pitch." The players from Charlton and Orient entered the pitch through a guard of honour, and among the special guests at the game were Chelsea pensioners, troops and carers from the Headley Court rehabilitation centre in Surrey as well as other service personnel. The Addicks have worked closely with Woolwich Barracks as part of efforts to celebrate Charlton's links with the area's troops and the bond will continue with plans under way for Charlton Community Trust coaches to run football courses for children of army personnel. Help for Heroes is a charity dedicated to raising vital funds for members of the British Armed Forces injured whilst serving their country and for the duration of the 2009/10 season, it is the official charity partner of The Football League. Help for Heroes has been selected as the official charity partner of The Football League for the duration of the 2009/10 season click here for more information www.football-league.co.uk/officialcharity/helpforheroes/news/20100211/charlton-raise-7k-for-h4h_2269991_1962783

Congrats WBA Fans Football League WBA RAISE £25K FOR HAITI Posted on: 15.02.2010 West Bromwich Albion and their supporters have raised an incredible £25,000 for the DEC's Haiti Earthquake Appeal. Baggies fans dug deep to pledge £12,500 in an online auction after the club put the 18 match shirts from their game against Newcastle up for sale to generate vital funds. Albion have now matched that figure by making a further £12,500 donation to the appeal. "Our supporters really dug deep during our shirt auction and I would like to send my sincere thanks to everyone who took part and helped raise such a fantastic sum," said Chairman Jeremy Peace. "We felt it was only right that we, as a club, matched the generosity of our supporters. "This terrible tragedy continues to take its toll on Haiti and our donation will go towards the international community's efforts to help the people." They money will go towards supporting the Disaster Emergency Committee's aid effort on the small Caribbean island following last month's devastating earthquake which has killed tens of thousands of people and left over a million homeless. The news comes after the club added the 'DEC Haiti Appeal' logo to the front of the players' shirts for the 2-2 draw at St James' Park on January 18. The shirts were then auctioned off via official website www.wba.co.uk.
