Luton: conflicting stories over players' futures
Mark Wood has reported in the Luton News that Kevin Nicholls, Kevin Gallen and Alan White have been transfer listed. Whether this is true or just a rumour started on the Luton Outlaws supporters' website is unclear.
Wood reports that Gallen is 'gutted' by the decision and attributes this statement to the former QPR striker:
'I was brought into the office and told I was going to go on the transfer list and wasn't going to play any more. I wasn't going to be in the squad for the next game.
'He said I was too old and said he was going to play Tom Craddock and Matthew Barnes-Homer and said something about finances.
'It isn't very much to do with me, I'm not a big wage earner at Luton.'
He is reported as sying he wants to stay at the club and help the push for promotion.
Meanwhile, The Luton & Dunstable Express report the contrary.
Sports writer , James Cunliffe, reports that the thre players mentioned and in addition, Keith Keane, are going nowhere.
However, the quote form Manager, Richard Money, did not actually deny the rumour. He is reported as having said:
"There`s nothing to add from me from that point of view.
"Football clubs are always full of rumours and conjecture and it seems that this football club is maybe more so than most."
Money went on to mention the recent signings and comcluded:
"I think it gives us a pretty good squad and we`ll just see what happens between now and the end of January.
"Things can change on a day-today basis."
So it is as you were as far as the rumours are concerned.
