Coventry sign Owls defender Wood Wood has been with Wednesday since he was 11 years old Coventry City have signed defender Richard Wood on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, with a view to making the move permanent in January. The 24-year-old is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Sky Blues in the new year after the clubs agreed a deal worth around £500,000. Wood had been on the transfer list at Hillsborough after rejecting the offer of a new contract. Coventry boss Chris Coleman said Wood had been a "long-term target". Owls boss Brian Laws Laws has confirmed that he would like to use the proceeds of any player sales to bring in a new striker. not that im that bofferd but we must have wank contract people if they couldnt talk him away to join us init? ?? EPN - Although we were linked to him we do not know for sure if we were indeed interested in him, this could just be agents using 'big spending' QPR as a way to improve or even brocker a deal.

Absolutely spot on in my honest opinion. It's happened countless times in the past where we have had a mention in a newspaper local to the team that the player wants to leave which the next day it is picked up by the internet and the papers. Hope it got Wood an extra couple grand a week and his agent a bigger cut of a bigger fee. That's just good easy business at the expense of one phone call. Lovely-jubbly! ;D not that im that bofferd but we must have wank contract people if they couldnt talk him away to join us init? ?? Interesting way to put it but I am pretty happy with our set up at the moment as after giving Hall, Agyemang and Helgusson long contracts in the past we now hand them out to players like Routledge, Gorrks and Faurlin as well as picking up decent loan players and players like Buzsacky. Trust in Magic and The Gorm I say!
