I hope that is an error by the QPR World and not the club.

To be honest, hadn't looked previously re him. But the other player profiles (the ones I checked - Didn't check them all) are all "complete"

But having now looked at MOST of the profiles, Pellicori really does seem to stand alone. How strange given how hard Gianni worked to get him here

The international man of mystery.
We have a few of them at the club...

The plot thickens Mike.
He DID have a squad profile and picture when he first signed. The club took the rather unusual step of including a reported trialist in the team photo and his own individual shot... but don't forget he was ON TRIAL as the club were very keen to point out at the time.
The whole episode just confuses me, and 'Pellicori: In Pictures' was nowhere to be found just days after him signing, and his profile was virtually removed after this issue arose...

The international man of mystery. We have a few of them at the club... Of course one supposedly left...Then it turned out he hadn't. And another, it was denied he was actually in a real club job...Before his departure was announced. Another was reported (in the press) to be possibly coming, but never did. One just wants to get paid what he claims he's owed And so on

I don't think Pellicori really exists. They wheel out a different trialist for each game and they use his name.

He's here! (Just missed my chance to have done a "100-Days-at-QPR-Post" QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: R'S SIGN PELLICORIPosted on: Thu 30 Jul 2009 Queens Park Rangers Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Italian striker Alessandro Pellicori. The 28 year-old, who has been on trial with Jim Magilton's First Team squad for the majority of pre-season, has penned a three year deal. Speaking to www.qpr.co.uk, Magilton expressed his delight at bringing the former Avellino front-man to Loftus Road. "Alessandro has done well with us during his trial period," said Magilton. "He's a natural goalscorer and we're delighted to add him to the already healthy attacking options we have at our disposal. "He'll take time to settle over here, but we're really excited by his arrival." Pellicori began his professional career at Cosenza, before moving on to Lecce in 2000. He made his Serie A top-flight debut in January 2001, before spending time on loan at a variety of Serie C Clubs, before settling down at Grosseto. Twenty-two goals in 52 starts represented a very decent return, but he was soon on the move again, this time signing for Serie B outfit Piacenza. However, he made just nine starts for Piacenza and penned a deal with Serie B rivals Cesena in January 2007. That summer he moved on to newly-promoted Avellino, scoring an impressive 18 goals in 38 starts. Pellicori will wear squad number 12. *You can see Pellicori's excellent goal against Kettering Town last night, exclusively on QPR Player on Friday. *To sponsor the R's new striker for the 2009/10 campaign, contact our Sales Team now on 020 8740 2588. www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1719211,00.html Wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessandro_Pellicori

Next news will be his departure.
If he answere his FB page I'd ask him, never does though so he can't exist.

I concede to your excellent research Mike, couldn't find it myself!
Nevertheless why take a squad photo, which can be clearly seen in that file, for a trialist - maintaining that he hasn't signed during the period for which squad photos were taken.
Also why give him a profile, then take down his photo and details. I am not leaping logic or having a go at the club, I just think it's rather perculiar behaviour and goes beyond the normal remit of a technological glitch...

At the time he was signing, I seem to recall some board comments praising Pellicori, and attacking critics as being "anti-foreigner"

A lot of people asked what was the point of signing a serie b/c striker. They were right, weren't we.

I see there's some debate elsewhere re Pellicori's qualities, etc. So, thought would bump. As the QPR Official Site said: He signed on a three year deal. It's irrelevant how long he stays. It was a three year deal. And whether we paid a million pound transfer fee, or a free transfer, or somewhere in between -and free rarely means free. That's money down the drain. And someone is responsible for that deal. And should be named and shamed. Given the number #12 shirt. And when you click here on his profile. Very. Very strange www.qpr.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10373~48273,00.html

What qualities would they be? I've hardly seen him for any period of time to make any judgement. A mate goes to reserve games and says he can finish but cannot move, good qualities.
Anyway, his was a "Lee Cook" deal as said before and if "rumours" are to be believed, he'll be gone in January.

And why should QPR want to save some foreign club?
Lee Cook: We HAD to Sell. ANd the money saved our club (maybe)
But given that Pellicori was a free transfer - we' ve been told that! How could his sale save the Italian club:
And why should we care about saving an Italian club? (Sorry to all Italian clubs). But that's jnot our concern, surely.

Some may suggest a backhander may have been involved but I prefer to believe our directors are football philanthropists.

And why no description/photo on the staff page for Pellicori. Forget all the reasons why we may have signed him. That's very strange.

Well at least he got away with grabbing a ball against Donks. Bet he thought he was the goalkeeper. Maybe we should try him in goal since he doesnt move too much.

Seen him in some pre season games and thought he was like Steve Slade with a Alice band with his football skills. But i think i read we signed him to save a club from going under?

Dunno where you read that Finn. He is certainly not as mobile as Slade, if he was, with his finishing, he'd be playing. Edit: I'm sure the absent profile will be resolved soonest.
