Maidenhead Advertiser - Scouts approach Magpies players

Johnson ‘Drax’ Hippolyte could be about to lose three of the players responsible for Maidenhead United’s turnaround this season.
After propelling the Magpies from bottom of the Conference South to 10th place, Will Hendry, Kieron St Aimie and Staforde Palmer are all on the verge of leaving York Road.
Striker Palmer will wear the black and white stripes on two more occasions before his three-month loan deal expires and he returns Hayes & Yeading United.
His departure will leave the Magpies short up front. And the situation could worsen after ex-QPR and Barnet forward St Aimie was scouted last week by Football League clubs.
The biggest loss to Drax’s side, though, would be the possible departure of midfielder Hendry.
Following his goal in Tuesday night’s 2-1 home defeat against Dorchester Town, League 2 scouts descended on the former Dagenham & Redbridge man.
Boss Drax revealed he expects Hendry to leave this week, saying: “We might lose Will Hendry.
“There was a League 2 scout there last night (Tuesday). I spoke to Will’s agent and he said they were holding discussions today (Wednesday).”
A resigned Drax added: “We always knew it was going to happen. We knew we wouldn’t be able to keep him long-term – he’s a different class.”
Regarding the end of Palmer’s loan, Drax said: “Chelmsford will probably be his last game [on November 7].
“If I could extend his loan I would because he’s a good lad who’s worked hard recently.”
The problem now facing the Magpies manager is how to replace the gaps if all three do leave the club.
With current financial constraints though, Drax will have to rely on his younger squad members.
“There’s nothing I can do to be honest,” he said. “We haven’t got the finances to go out and get another Will Hendry. We’ll give Alex Wall and Lee Barney more game time.
"And we’ll call back Lewis Ochoa from loan – he’s got great potential.”
