Talking about one of our supposed Summer targets! Give Me Football
It's not simple Simon at The Hawthorns Simon Cox is being wasted by West Brom, says Swindon chiefBy Ian Clarkson October 23, 2009 Swindon chairman Andrew Fitton has launched a broadside at West Bromwich Albion claiming they are wasting the talents of Simon Cox.Cox joined Albion for £1.9m in the summer from Swindon but has been restricted to just one start under Roberto Di Matteo at the Hawthorns, which has left Fitton scratching his head. He said: “West Brom are asking Simon to play in a different position and I don’t understand that. “With a guy who knows where the white sticks are as well as he does, you just ask him to hit them as much as possible. He’s a truly top class goalscorer and can do that at any level. “He’s not afraid to gamble, he’s not afraid to take on the ridiculous chance, he doesn’t need three touches and will have a go with the first one, not letting it affect him if it goes in the crowd. That’s what Simon has. “It could be a lengthy transition for him, but if they want him to play in a different role then they might not want to send him back here. We might teach him bad habits – like goalscoring.” www.givemefootball.com/championship/its-not-simple-simon-at-the-hawthorns

Sounds like, I've got the cake now can I eat it for free!
Spot on Finn. If he thought that much of him, he shouldn't have sold him.

But if you'd spent a lot of time refurbishing a classic car and then sold it to a neighbour who left it to rot in his driveway, you might pass comment too

A good attempt at an analogy but not quite cutting it for me Eus. I doubt that Andrew Fitton has spent any time honing the abilities of Cox. if the comments came from someone who had coached and nurtured him for a decade or so I would agree with you. In this case,I think he is angling to get him back cheaply or on loan, he's a chairman!

Try another analogy: Or you had a beautiful painting that you loved but were forced to sell (You needed the money)...And then the new owner put it on the wall upside down in the garage or the bathrooom! Or think how we have felt when we've sold a star (That's a while back) and the new club doesnt really appreciate that player's talents)

Hang on this is about a club that sold a player for a a good price. Then are telling the buying club to play him sorry but thatis the issue to try and say think of it as a car or a painting is not the same end of the day it's a player. Now, in my mind no other club should tell a club how to run itself or who to play. If swindon wanna take the lad back on loan and pay his wages out of the 1.9 million they made on him that is one way of looking after the lads talent.

I kind of wish he'd been left to rot on the driveway now
