Cambridge City Official Site Tony Burke Signs for City Posted by Andrew Dunn Oct 22, 2009, 22:28 Email this article Printer friendly page Cambridge City manager, Gary Roberts has tonight signed 23 year old Tony Burke from South Midlands Division outfit Broxbourne Borough. Burke, who is a right winger, has netted 5 times in all competitions for Broxbourne this season has joined the Lilywhites on a contract, and is seen as a replacement for recently departed Scott Neilson. Roberts commented "I'm delighted to have secured Tony's signature. He is an excellent player, and I have no doubt he will do well and excite the fans too". As part of the deal, City will be sending a team to Broxbourne as part of their pre-season preparations at the start of the 2010/11 campaign. Providing the paperwork is processed in time, Burke will be available for selection for Saturday's home league clash against Clevedon Town. City have also added 3 trialists to their squad. They are: Centre Forward, Matt Mitchell who is 19 and was previously with Arsenal Youth Centre Forward, Matthew Batt who is 21 and was previously with Heybridge Swifts Centre Forward, Chris Arthur who is 19 and was previously with QPR.
