Meanwhile on Saturday... QPR Official Site STAN IN THE SUPERSTORE ON SATURDAY Posted on: Wed 23 Sep 2009 R's legend Stan Bowles will be in the QPR Superstore on Saturday to sign copies of a new book, titled 'Hooped Dreams.' Hooped Dreams charts a year at the eye of a hurricane for QPR. After standing on the edge of financial ruin and a decade of depressingly huge debts, the Club suddenly found itself among the richest in the world on paper when taken over by Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal. A dramatic new chapter in the Club's history began, and Hooped Dreams tells the story of the takeover and the remarkable 2008/09 season, with firsthand accounts from vice-chairman Amit Bhatia, Gareth Ainsworth, Lee Cook, plus the views and memories of Rangers legends Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh and Marc Bircham. Article continues Advertisement We also hear the opinions of passionate fans well known to Q Block and the Upper Loft, plus broadcaster Robert Elms and Government mininster Alan Johnson. The book is an honest and objective account of a season that stirred so many strong emotions along the way, and it's available now in the QPR Superstore. Hooped Dreams is priced £9.99 and Bowles will be on hand to sign copies between 1.30-2.30pm on Saturday afternoon. www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~1804800,00.html

I do feel sorry for the author of this book, in that the premise behind this particular effort appears clearly to have been " & QPR sailed off in to the Golden Sunset of The Premiership & everyone lived happily ever after" Unfortunately for Mick Kelly & this particular publication such a happy ending hasnt yet come to pass & all sorts has been going on, whether any of the more controversial aspects of the last 18+ months will be discussed is anyones guess, although I have to say that I am sceptical. I might read this book, but then again I might not, because it might be a completely pointless / irrelevant exercise. I think I'll wait to hear others opinions whom I respect before I start scouring bookshops / ebay for this "definitive" version of events.
