Cardiff Official Site BREAKING NEWS: ETUHU JOINS ON LOAN Sat 22 Aug 2009 Cardiff City have signed Manchester City forward Kelvin Etuhu on a season-long loan. The deal was completed on Saturday morning, beating the noon deadline for the player to be available for Sunday's home match with Bristol City. Cardiff beat off opposition from Premier League Wolves and Portsmouth to clinch Kelvin's signature. Six-footer Kelvin, 21, can operate as a striker or a winger and featured as a substitute in Manchester City's midweek friendly win over Barcelona. He starred in the club's run to the FA Youth Cup Final in 2006, scoring the winner in the semi-final against Manchester United. He grew up in South London, and is the younger brother of Fulham striker Dickson Etuhu, who also started his career at Manchester City before moving to Preston, Norwich and Sunderland. Kelvin will wear the number 17 shirt and is available to play for Cardiff in cup matches - unless we are drawn against Manchester City. Bluebirds manager Dave Jones said: "We are really pleased to get Kelvin - he's a Premier League player coming into the club. It looked like he was going to Wolves, but there was a hitch and we stepped in to bring him here. He's a big, pacey lad who will give us options across the front line.". www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10335~1764574,00.html
