And this from London Informer...
I'm surprised how little supposedly would be paying him - almost as if we didn't really try! And the almost disparaging comments of an "Insider"Goalkeeper Marshall rejects QPR to join Premiership side Aug 13 2009 London Informer QPR are back to square one in their search for a second keeper after Andy Marshall rejected a one-year contract last night. The 34-year-old ex-Norwich star has been offered £6,000-a-week more to sign up with Aston Villa - who want back-up for Brad Friedel and the untried Brad Guzan, ironically the shot-stopper when Villa lost to Rangers in the League Cup last season. Marshall would have been picking up around £2,000-a-week as the second choice shot-stopper behind Radek Cerny at Hoops. But the lure of a Premiership club and a fatter wallet leaves Rangers dependent on 17-year-old Elvijs Putnins, signed last season on the recommendation of fellow Latvian, Kaspars Gorkss. The keeper was on the bench for the second time in a row on Tuesday night in the League Cup at Exeter, with his replacement yet to be decided. A QPR insider said: "Marshall wants to better himself, and QPR aren't going to pay over the odds for a second-choice goal-keeperwww.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/allsport/2009/08/13/goalkeeper-marshall-rejects-qpr-to-join-premiership-side-113489-24435264/

Does any member of the First Team Squad (except MAYBE a couple of the youngsters who just given numbers) make as little (for football at QPR) 2,000 a week?

Of course I don't think the Coventry Telegraph headline is quite right either! Coventry Telegraph - QPR GUTTED after Andy Marshall snub Aug 14 2009 ANDY Marshall turned down money-bag QPR in favour of Premier League Aston Villa FC, it has emerged. The London Informer reports that the goalkeeper - who was released by Coventry City FC in June - was high up on the Loftus Road wanted list. However the veteran shot-stopper turned down the chance to be the second choice shot-stopper behind Radek Cerny for a return to the top flight at Villa Park. A QPR insider said: "Marshall wants to better himself, and QPR aren't going to pay over the odds for a second-choice goal-keeper." www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/football-rumours-gossip/2009/08/14/qpr-gutted-after-andy-marshall-snub-92746-24441303/
