Exeter Official SiteMatch Preview - Queens Park Rangers (H) - Carling Cup 1st Round - 11/8/09 Posted on: Sun 09 Aug 2009 Beaten but not unbowed from the trip to Leeds, City can get back on their horse straight away with a League Cup encounter at home to QPR. Paul Tisdale is now another striker light following Barry Corr's red card at Elland Road, joining Stansfield, Watson and perhaps Logan on the sidelines. This may mean a start for Craig McAllister, or Tisdale may be tempted to throw young James Norwood into the fray, the fleet-footed signing from Eastbourne Town having looked lively on Saturday. QPR have been something of a "soap opera" club in recent years following the takeover of the club by Formula One tycoons Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, with managers in and out amidst rumours of player selection difficulties. Jim Magilton is the latest man in the hotseat at Loftus Road, hoping to get himself back on track after his sacking by Ipswich last season. The West London side needed a late equaliser in their opener at home to Blackpool. A familiar face in the QPR line-up will be Akos Buszaky, the former Plymouth star. With contrasting fortunes in the last 40 years or so, QPR spending a number of years in the top flight, you have to go back to the 1965/66 season for the last time the sides met - QPR winning 1-0 at Loftus Road in March 1966 as City slipped to relegation, having drawn 0-0 at the Park the previous September. www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/NextUp/0,,10436~1748336,00.html

Forwards Adam Stansfield and Ben Watson are still sidelined, while Richard Logan is a doubt.

Matt Connolly missed that game after his recent recovery from a calf strain but could start at St James Park, where Mikele Leigertwood may also feature.

From January 2003
BBC Friday, 31 January, 2003, McAllister wants QPR move
Basingstoke Town striker Craig McAllister has urged his club not to stand in the way of him joining QPR. The Ryman Premier League outfit rejected an offer from Rangers for McAllister before the 22-year-old began a second and extended trial at Loftus Road this week.
He is desperate to secure a move, but Basingstoke manager Ernie Howe is determined to hold out for the best possible price.
McAllister said: "I thought something had been agreed but now it seems it hasn't.
I'm really hoping that something can be sorted out Craig McAllister
"I just hope Basingstoke allow me to move on.
"When I was growing up Rangers were a Premiership club and it would be a fantastic thing to sign for them.
"I'm really hoping that something can be sorted out.
"It's every kid's dream to be a professional footballer and I think I'm good enough.
"It would be great to get a move to a pro club and hopefully I've shown I deserve a chance."
But former QPR defender Howe is in no mood to do his old club any favours.
"Rangers made an offer and it wasn't enough. They'll have to come back to us again," he said.
"I don't know what the money situation is at Rangers, but the kind of money they're talking about for him isn't right."
McAllister has scored 22 goals in 32 matches for Basingstoke and has also attracted interest from Reading, Luton and Southend.
