Sebastian Rusculleda Looking Forward to Playing for QPR
-
As was noted yesterday's report in the Italian Press
Skysports - QPR set to sign Argentine - Rusculleda relishing challenge By Patricio Figueroa
Sebastian Rusculleda is looking forward to joining Queens Park Rangers after receiving an 'irresistible' offer from the Championship club.
The 22-year-old winger currently plays for Tigre, who recently won promotion to the Argentine top flight.
But he insists he could not turn down the chance to play in England, and is now set to travel to London on Tuesday to finalise his transfer.
"Everything happened very fast and this is a chance that I can't let go as playing in English football isn't something that happens every day," Rusculleda told his homeland press.
"This is thanks to Tigre having such an excellent campaign in the Argentine domestic league.
"We got promoted to Argentina's Premier Division in June 2007 and in December we were the vice champions.
"I had said to the officials of Tigre that I would only accept an offer from a team from abroad because what had been offered in Argentina wasn't good and I would have preferred to stay at Tigre.
"But when the offer from Queens Park Rangers arrived I had no doubts."
Seduced
Rusculleda is not familiar with QPR but is excited about the prospect of playing at Championship level.
He explained: "I don't know too much about the team. I know they are not having a very good season but they are in the second most important division in England and that is good for my career because at any moment things can start to go better.
"The chance of playing in England seduced me from the first moment."
QPR are currently 18th in the Championship but coach Luigi De Canio has wasted no time in bringing in new players during the transfer window.
He has already clinched deals for Fitz Hall, Patrick Agyemang, Hogan Ephraim, Akos Buzsaky, Matthew Connolly, Gavin Mahon and Kieran Lee, while Stefan Postma could also join if ADO Den Haag sanction the move. Skysports
