Because to some extent, it's reasonable to assume (given obvious differences), what happens at Swansea is what would have happened at QPR
BBC - Sousa wants to cut Swansea squad
Midfielder Jordi Lopez could be one of few Swansea summer signings under new manager Paulo Sousa if he signs for the the club.
Sousa says he wants to cut the Swans' squad and improve training.
He said: "Many new faces? No. Of course we are looking for some new players to come and help us, but no so many.
"We don't need that many. Like I said, I want to reduce the squad. I don't want a big squad, but I want to increase the intensity of my training."
Lopez has agreed personal terms with Swansea City and is set to sign for the Championship club on a two-year deal.
Lopez, 28, was signed on a three-month deal by new Swans boss Paulo Sousa when he was in charge of QPR last season.
Now the Spaniard is poised to become Sousa's first new recruit since he took over the reins at the Liberty Stadium.
"Jordi is due to have a medical on Monday with a view to completing the deal," said Swans chairman Huw Jenkins.
Lopez has played for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Mallorca, Racing Santander and Sevilla - where he won the Uefa Cup in 2006.
He is expected to sign in time to fly to Spain with the Swansea squad on Tuesday for a week-long training camp.
He won the Uefa Cup with Sevilla in 2006 when the Spanish side beat Middlesbrough 4-0 in the final.
Before the switch to Sevilla two years earlier, Lopez made three appearances for Real Madrid.
He arrived in English football after being released by Real Mallorca last December, joining QPR in February.
Lopez opened talks after his three-month contract at Loftus Road expired but was unhappy with the wages being offered and negotiations ended, leaving the player as a free agent.
The hope is that Lopez will ably fill the gap left by fellow Spanish midfielder Jordi Gomez, who scored 14 goals on loan from Espanyol last season.
Sousa, 38, was unveiled as successor to Roberto Martinez who left to take charge of Wigan last month.
Meanwhile, striker Chris Jones has left Swansea for League Two side Grimsby after rejecting a contract extension.
The 19-year-old has not played for the Swans' first team since March 2007.
