Thanks for that and welcome. QPR Italia are usually spot on and I guess Wally will be on here soon to give us the lowdown on the player. I've never heard of him but the usual concerns apply: Who brought him to Rangers? Is it a cheap punt or are we hanging our hopes on him? Will Brighton take him on loan?

And good on Vital Football crediting QPR Italia. www.qpritalia.splinder.com/Such hype about our Italian signing on the board. A 28 year old second Division Striker Good luck but have to be skeptical. Is this really a Magilton signing?

Hello blatantfowl, thanks for the info and welcome to the board.
I'm hoping that we have just bought a player we actually need rather than some kids from abroad who have no experience. At 28 he should be in peak form fitness and mentally and his experience in relegation dogfights and with promotion chases will stand him in good stead in the championship where every game can be one or the other.
This feels like we bought the player that fits into the squad neatly, rather than talented individuals that we have to accomodate to fit in with the squad.
Slowly I am seeing signs of change at Rangers at the moment, in so much that the board seem to be relinquishing full control over to the management team. Whether this is a temporary consequence of the F1 drama at the moment or because they are on holiday(!) only time will tell.
As far as my optimism is concerned at the moment though, whether it is also a temporary consequence of watching us knock 4 goals in against Aldershot in a pre-season friendly, only time will tell.

This guy doesnt sound like he's going to do too much damage for us, lets be brutally honest about it.

Hi and thanks for the welcome guys.
I have frequented forum as a lurker for a while and when I saw this story had not come up here yet I just thought I'd let you know. I try to be an optimist and I think this guy is no great fanfare but just a decent honest signing and sometimes those are the best....maybe.

Ditto the welcome.
But the more you look, the more strange it looks.
Of course one advantage of signing a player from abroad: We'll know less (nothing) about him and give him more leeway.

And additional from a year ago re Pellicori signing qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5142and comments qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5143Including London Informer (Writer not listed if Paul Warburton) QPR dig deep for Italian hot-shot PellicoriJul 16 2009 London Informer QPR will pay over the odds for Alessandro Pellicori - but only if the Italian striker proves he's worth a £1million fee during the next two games. Reports that the 27-year-old's transfer is a done deal are wide of the mark. But Rangers are worried that unless they pay far more than they might need to they will lose the prolific hitman to someone else. The deal will be rushed through if Pellicori's trial with Rs turns up trumps, because his club, Avellino, are on the verge of bankruptcy and after being relegated from Serie B they need all the cash they can get. Pellicori was last night (Wednesday) with the Rs squad on their tour of Slovenia and Croatia that ends on Sunday with the match against NK Carlovac - but an insider insisted Pellicori was just one of a number of irons in the fire. "If Jim Magilton likes what he sees," said the source, "then a deal can be done quickly. With the state Avellino are in it could be that a future creditor would let him go far more cheaply - but there are too many ifs and maybes to all of that." The player was loaned out to Serie B side Grosseto last season, and has done the rounds in Italy's second tier except for a single spell in the top-flight with Lecce three seasons ago. However, the season before last he hit 18 for Avellino in a notoriously defensive league, while playing as the lone hitman for the ailing club. An Rs insider said: "He's come to an age where he could be perfect for QPR - but that's all in the hands of the manager."www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/allsport/2009/07/16/qpr-dig-deep-for-italian-hot-shot-pellicori-113489-24171504/

Guess you should give the messageboard a veto over transfers. Would save the club millions! Gianni and Flavio! Unless it was QPR's Super Italian Scout (or whatever his official Title) Gianni Di Marzio

And as also posted on this board two years ago Sounds like getting rid of higher earners! Corriere Dello Sport Web Translation translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=it&u=http://www.corrieredellosport.it/Notizie/Calcio/74578/Camilli:%2BIl%2BGrosseto%2Bpunta%2Bsui%2Bgiovani&ei=8NpcSpqzBo3eNYeu_b8C&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DCamilli:%2BIl%2BGrosseto%2Bpunta%2Bsui%2Bgiovani%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DGCamilli: The Grossetto tip on young Al raduno in vista della terza stagione di B, il presidente fa chiarezza: «Non ci possiamo permettere giocatori con ingaggi troppo alti» At the meeting in view of the third season of B, the President makes clear: "We do not allow players with salaries too high ' GROSSETO, July 12 - "First we have to keep an eye on the budget, so we can not allow players with salaries too high. This means that much focus on young people who also come from smaller series. The President of Grosseto, Piero Camilli, like this season - the third consecutive series B - the company is preparing to live by today, the day of the rally when first coming to Umbria, Norcia destination, where the team Tuesday will start work on the ground. The President had repeatedly stressed the desire to move the hand, even at the end of the play off, but then decided to move forward but being attentive to the accounts. The first three acquisitions confirm the line and announced to the court of Elio technical Gustinetti (even if confirmed, they say, with a touch-down of recruitment) arrived the attacker Gianluca Toscano, 25 years, taken outright from New Tor Tre Teste (Excellence Lazio) where in two years has scored 50 goals; Fautario Simone, 22 years, a defender of this band from interfering in ownership (the last two seasons he played in Pistoiese, Pro League) and Ferdinand Vitofrancesco, midfielder of 21 years arriving from Cremonese the formula of the loan with the right of redemption. Let go Garofalo (at Siena) and Gessa (in Pescara), no longer Cordova (went to Parma), Pellicori (who could marry a London side Queen's Park Rangers), and Polito Stendardo (both at Salernitana), then restart the Grosseto has done in the ten years of Camilli presidency: renewing all or almost. But worry more fans now accustomed to revolutions (often in the way, the rest), is above all the declared will of Camilli of "helping out" (as he said) to Pisa, which will start afresh from amateurs . The fans are worried that the president can gradually loosen the commitment towards Grosseto. Even for this there is a lot of waiting to see which team will be set, as the president, until now, has always improved the results of the previous year. qprreport.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=5073 In Italian www.corrieredellosport.it/Notizie/Calcio/74578/Camilli:+Il+Grosseto+punta+sui+giovani
