I'm probably not alone in thinking he'd have been gone in the last International Break He should have been gone - but Hoos instead gave him the vote of confidence based on all the "hard work" done during the break that was going to turn our season at Huddersfield. Interesting that contradictions are starting to appear with GA moaning about the break being difficult to deal with as we had 9 players away on international duty. 9 internationls in the squad and look where we are ! Losing at Huddersfield who had not won in their last 5 is an improvement? I despair. Amazing GA quote in that article and elsewhere "roll on the season which is going to be a good one. I'm pretty sure we will finish above that line" "Roll on the season" - someone wake him up and tell him the season started 12 games ago. "pretty sure" - that sounds full of confidence. Anyway having seemingly wasted the last break, my only hope is that the wheels are turning in the background talking to those available like Eustace so that when we make the change it can be GA out , new man in next day. If we go down the temporary manager, take our time to find the right man route, we will be well into December with little time for a new man to work out what if anything he can do in the January window not to mention being too far adrift to catch up. I'm not even going to watch or check scores tonight until it's all over - first time in years but maybe a change in routine will help. 66 plus years of following the R's and I cannot believe I am thinking or writing this stuff - never before and hopefully never again. Maybe time to be quiet. Que sera, sera.

How many times in the past have we given someone a chance to turn things around in February after the transfer window has closed and wasted our time?? November is usually a shit month for QPR, so why not try and make a difference now? My Birthday is on the 2nd and I hope it is not ruined by this bunch with another inept display and missing sitters. Away at Rotherham on the 5th. Guy Fawkes, is that when our defence finally completely self destructs and we lost 8-0??

Rumour has it that November 5th will be renamed Gareth Ainsworth day after his last day in charge and he is seen leaving the ground with a flaming rocket up somewhere appropriate. Happy Birthday for the 2nd in case I do not come back on.

Fans are sick of hearing cliches and excuses. Our attitudes will not change until we see change on the pitch by the players. This lot appear to be unable to do this or they are uninspired by GA. Gareth, sometimes it pays to just shut the F*** up and say nothing. All you are doing is turning fans against you and the team. We don't want to hear it, we want to see Plan A or Plan B or Plan C.

That was a very hard game to watch. Starting late at 8.15 because we couldn't find our way from our local hotel on time, the first half was all about 11 men behind the ball, with no out ball. When in doubt, give it to Begovic to hoof back to the Albion. Dozy Andre nearly screwed it up early doors with a sloppy pass to the opposition, but for 45 minutes we frustrated a WBA side who looked clueless. But watching this dross, you just know that one mistake and it will be game over. We can say that the penalty changed the game - it did. But was always likely to happen. If you have no adventure, no shots, no chances, just a solid defensive gameplan, you have no belief. The ref did not allow Dunne back on after an injury. It was a very long time to leave him standing there. So thicko Dunne decided to go on anyway - and got the dumb booking it deserved. I thought 'penalty' watching Paal's tackle, so why we went nuts, with Dunne getting a second booking and Bergovic for good measure. Apparently, Dunne was messing with the penalty spot. Self destruct, game over. Clarke-Salter off injured as per usual, I fully expected Armstrong to get booked and be out for Leicester, but even he could not manage to run into trouble. Leicester will be embarrassing for sure. Will Ainsworth make it to Rotherham?

The way I see it: Gareth's entire managerial career has been based on getting the best out of an inferior club and group of players. If we thought this was going to be a year of struggles and our ambition was survival, Gareth with his love of the club, was a reasonable shout. But his approach has been to say that we are inferior to other clubs, that we have to respect the far superior opposition. He did it again this week with WBA, praising certain players, saying we had a plan to deal with them etc. But WBA are in the middle of a bad injury crisis, they had stopped scoring goals, last night, the bus was late and then we parked it in our half, and WBA looked devoid of ideas on how to repair the bus out of the way. He is already saying that Leicester are a Prem side - well perhaps most managers would say the same, but Huddersfield were a poor side who got well beat last night, and it took two goals before we realised. We have players like Chair, Willock and Dykes who's value has floored. Dykes was awful last night - as was Chair and Willock when he came on. You cannot keep telling players they are inferior and expect them to sparkle. What was Dykes role last night? Moving towards the two centre backs for them to pass around him, then jumping for a ball coming down with snow on it - and watching the defender win it. The players have to do what they have been told or risk being dropped. Last night, as ever, we lost two quick goals - that to me tells of mental fragility. With Dunne's brain fart, the heads dropped - we were lucky to keep it to just two goals. We are not scoring goals because we are not set up to score goals - so we do not believe we can. We will no doubt park the bus against Leicester, but with Rotherham must win, will he do the same again. Dunne suspended, Clarke-Salter, Cook & Fox injured, Kakay hopeless, Paal's defensive judgement questionable - at least Cannon looked useful. Sadly, Gareth looks lost. When not if.

Plymouth v Sheff Wed tonight. A Plymouth win or draw would put us 5 points adrift. I know there's plenty of time left but the first quarter of the season has gone in the blink of an eye!
Everyone on here knows I'm a glass half full type but I really do fear the worst. and it's not all down to Ainsworth, Dunne wasn't acting on the manager's instructions. I rarely call for the manager's head but I do think he needs to go. But if he does, I still can't see us getting out of this mess ubless major changes are made elsewhere at the club.

I was not going to post but need to make one longish point along the same lines as Ricky above.
Before every game GA concentrates on the opposition and comes up with his plan on how to stop them, blindly hoping to hold out for draw or a breakaway goal. Even last night with a WBA team struggling with injuries and goal scoring.
As the focus is always on stopping the opposition, the 'hold out" plan for every game at the high level maybe the same but the "tactical plan" of how to stop the opposition changes game to game. As a result (as well as injuries) we pick a different set of players, play them in different formations even if it means playing out of position, we plan to use different tactics. 13 games in and for every game we set up and try to play differently. Even as against Blackburn we experiment with an untried idea that hopelessly failed. By now we should have a settled team knowing what they are supposed to do to try to win games. . Even against the lesser teams I have not heard a single word about planning to attack, planning to find their weak spot, planning to win .
The whole mentality and thinking is totally negative and wrong. If we do not even attempt to win a match we never will. We have players who can do a far better job, be more entertaining and more attacking the opposition but they are not given the chance. Instead we play first name on the sheet Kakay.
GA's mentality seems to be to plead publicly that we are the worst team in the division and then to take credit if we manage to pick up a point, meanwhile destroying the confidence and belief of his own players, the fans and hopefully now the Board so that a change is made.
Until we have a manager who will focus on trying to win games rather than parking the bus (that cannot even find the ground) nothing will change. Even with a change now it will take a near miracle worker to repair the mental damage that GA has inflicted on the players, fans and club. Stop this "I will fight on" rubbish Gareth, admit you are out of ideas, out of your depth. For the sake of the club and yourself.
From what I have read (I did not watch) Dunne was stupid to get sent off but I can understand the frustration that must be running through the players, who also seem to be gagged from talking publicly unless through a stage managed snippet on the Official website or just will not say what hey are thinking.
I posted recently that I would shoot anyone calling for Warnock - I may be changing my mind as it will take a larger than life character and motivator to try to rescue us but I fear it is already too late.

I really must agree 100% with ricky's post when he describes our style of play.
I was not at the game against WBA but it seemed to me from reports that from the very first Kick our one and only intention was to play for a 0-0 draw. Sadly the plan failed. The strategy of trying to play a containment game(as is our style these days) and hoping that something will turn up in my book is not really a good idea especially if you have isolated strikers(striker) who can't hit a barn door.
When the opposition has all the attacking initiative one mistake by our not very watertight defence(and it is usually more than one) one goal and its all over

Him and Hoos need to be gone after Leicester inflict medieval levels of punishment on us on Saturday.
Both complicit in this absolute abomination of everything that's supposed to be part of the beautiful game.
The product they are both responsible for putting out is an offense to the senses.

Both complicit in this absolute abomination of everything that's supposed to be part of the beautiful game. The product they are both responsible for putting out is an offense to the senses. Why wait for after Leicester? - not going to be a sudden massive change in the way GA approaches football. So we wait for another loss, another set of inane post match comments from the manager about fighting spirit, I'll get us out of this, it will be good season, we were unlucky, we had injuries. Or if some fluke happens and we sneak a 1-0 win even worse - I told you so, we have turned the corner, we will surprise a lot of people. We would be better putting Hall in charge and tell him to play the development squad on Saturday - the first team is completely shot by now. While the product they are putting out is a disgrace the thing which really offends and upsets me is the head in the stand stupid comments from GA which frankly treat the fans like idiots who know nothing about football. What more does it take to get the message across to the club - not something I would ever suggest seriously or support but maybe a total walk out of fans at half time on Saturday would get a few at the top to open their eyes and minds. We may well see a few leaving at half time anyway if we are 5-0 down. If we set out to park the bus against Leicester the goals will be coming like the old route 11 bus - nothing for 30 minutes then 10 arrive in the next 15.

Hey, I'd have sacked them both immediately after the Blackburn game and actually used the 2 week break to try and fix a dressing room full of broken players. But our inept board seem intent on keeping Ainsworth despite it being clear and bleedin' obvious that he's not turning anything around except the value of our few remaining players, who he's ruining with his prehistoric style of 'football'. Giving him 3 more games is lunacy beyond belief, it's like trying to put out a fire by pouring petrol on it. But sadly, totally fitting with the utter ineptitude of everyone who has a hand in ruining, I mean running, our club. And personally, I'd like to see seats ripped out and thrown onto the pitch Saturday, followed by a mass exodus because these (expletives) need to know exactly how mad we are at what they've done to this club.

These owners have zero ambition for this club, they have had that attitude for years. You may recall me saying as much a few times lol, we are a laughing stock for what we as fans have to put up with. We became a selling club with no desire to get out of that mold especially when LF was still here. Hoo`s and whoever backs him need to ship out ASAP. This time around i think we deserve to drop a league and completely regroup, hopefully with new owners and new managerial blood with inbuilt ambition over pay. To stay up with this shower running the circus does not fill me with confidence at all.

Just watched the ITV highlights from Tuesday. When Dunne was booked, he was clearly gesturing that the lino told him to go on to the field of play - the lino is clearly shaking his head. Silly of Jimmy! I wonder how much that irritated the officials. The penalty was blatant - a shocking mistimed tackle. Our players complained for a change and Begovic positioned himself between the ref and the complainers. They did not show Dunne messing with the penalty spot. But he reached past Begovic to second card Dunne. Two crazy bookings, as it appeared watching it live. For the second goal, Kakay fell on his backside trying to tackle....

Yes a couple of stupid incidents leading to the 2 goals - but we do that at least twice every game so I doubt the penalty and Dunne incident actually changed the final outcome as we likely would have given something else away anyway, or the "best case" scenario of Ainsworth claiming a tactical victory from a bore draw. If Dunne did try to rough up the penalty spot he should be heavily fined by the club and injuries permitting left on the bench to think for a few games. I can understand his frustration but getting a red card, no chance to get back in the game with 10 men, suspended again when we already have all our CB's injured - not acceptable behaviour but that's what happens. The real issue, as I see it, was again setting the team up with a clear zero ambition for anything other than to get a 0-0. For those who have not seen it read this "we had a plan" madness: www.qpr.co.uk/news/2023/october/24/ainsworth--silly-errors-have-cost-us-tonight-/I am not normally a Stats man but in 98 minutes we had one shot - off target. WBA had 16 shots. Then Ainsworth's league record with us: 2022/23 Played 13 Won 3 drew 2 2023/24 Played 13 Won 2 drew 2 Don't even think about goals scored etc I suppose we can say he has achieved consistency but hardly making progress. While we will probably never know my gut feel is still that the final straw that made LF quit as DOF was a power clash with Ainsworth (after TF's departure) with Ainsworth having the say over transfer activity - look at the names we were associated with - all Ainsworth "models". The one decent signing of Cannon was one we have been tracking for a couple of seasons before Ainsworth. The point that leads me to, is to ask if LF was still DOF, or if we had appointed a knowledgeable new DOF would Ainsworth still be here with the stats above, while the owners stay quiet and Ainsworth vows to fight on as he has the full backing of the Board. Boy George Amit is probably enjoying the fake rock star image of GA. Luckily I will be out of circulation for most of November and although I will be able to follow events from afar will not be posting - maybe a good thing as the daily grind of venting anger and frustration is getting me down - but then not venting it may be worse.

Can’t help but think Dunne knows GA is on borrowed time and decided to aid the cause by reducing our team to 10 men. However, he needn’t have bothered as we never looked like or had any inclination of scoring in that game. I refuse to believe any human beings with even only the barest, most marginally limited knowledge of football could actually be this bad, even if they were trying to be so on purpose!

As I just posted on the Barton thread
Meanwhile some quotes from The72's preview of our game this weekend: Seems only our Board cannot understand.
"City meanwhile remain in 1st after beating Sunderland 1-0 on Tuesday night. Enzo Maresca’s side have won 12 of their opening 13 games and already have a big lead at the top of the table."
“There’s just no hope for QPR at the minute. It’s a really sorry state that the club are in and I’ve no idea how Ainsworth is still in a job.
“Leicester on the other hand are setting the example for Championship teams. They’re unbelievable to watch and showing no signs of slowing down, so I think this is an obvious win for them, especially with QPR looking like they have no centre-backs for this one.”
“While QPR aren’t bottom of the table, I don’t think there’s a bigger gulf between two teams in the Championship at the moment. The hosts have been looking dismal and supporter dissatisfaction can’t be much higher, while Leicester City are in storming form at the top of the division.
“It could get ugly if Leicester are on their game again this weekend. They should be able to have total control of this fixture, even away from home.
“It’d be a real feat for QPR to get anything from this, but I’m not giving them much chance to be honest. This should be a routine win for the league leaders and if they’re at their lethal best, they should put a few past the R’s.”
