So he hasn't played for us for a few weeks...And Scotland use him - and really no need to. They were already 3-0 in Cyprus

agree there was no need but if he is ready to play at least he is getting some match time before he comes back to us, silver lining I suppose. .

Agree with surreychad - not necessary but if it helps get him nearer match fit for when he returns there is a benefit - unless he gets injured or aggravates whatever he had.
The issue that I still have is the frequency of the international breaks which are followed by squeezing Saturday -mid week - Saturday league games in between. While the breaks give lesser players the chance for a few days break our "better" players are dragged off for a couple of extra games often long distances, increasing chance of injury and putting extra demands on their physical and mental capacity.
We have a 2 week break now then a handful of league games followed by another 2 week international break in October, followed by a handful of league games then yet another 2 week international break in November.
It seems that this actually puts teams with international players at a disadvantage and why I cannot disagree with clubs not taking our domestic cups seriously due if it increases their number of games. Even people like Kakay - hardly our stand out player is away in the middle of Africa and will only make it back in time for one days training before Sunderland.
Club v's country has always been a. problem but it is increasing with extra competitions such as the Nations Cup - all for TV money for FIFA and UEFA
