From my post in the Boro thread Sept 2nd I wrote: " Dykes should be withdrawn from the Scotland squad as he cannot make our bench (sic at Boro)- but he will be allowed to play and report back (to us) injured." Now the Championship starts again on Sept 16 but another International break starts from October 7th for a couple of weeks, when Dykes can play for Scotland and come back injured for another 3 or 4 weeks. So if he tries hard he can play 4 games for Scotland and not play a single game for us again until mid November or even December. Something wrong somewhere here. - We did get paid $10k per day for players going to the World Cup but I do not think we get anything for the International Breaks unless the player gets injured in the international and then clubs get compensation. Maybe this is our ploy to have him injured after internationals for as long as possible so Scotland can pay his wages As Dire Straits once sang: That ain't workin' that's the way you do it Money for nothin' and your chicks for free

A sort of 'Brothers in Arms' We shall see. My money is on him coming on as a late substitute - and then starting against England. I can understand any player's desire to play against England, but for that, I agree, he needed to have been on the bench /available for QPR at Middlesbrough. For Dykes it was 'Money for Nothing'.. Ainsworth said we have 10 away with Kakay doing the most travelling apparently. Good to see Ainsworth watching the Development Squad match this week rather than trekking overseas watching meaningless international matches. If any of then get injured, I guess that is just 'The Walk of Life!'.

Dire Straits in concert at Wembley (the old indoor version), last night of their world tour in 19censored -- one of the best I ever saw. Yes any Scot/Australian would want to play in this game against England and I do not think Dykes fakes injury - just a tongue in cheek post to keep the board ticking. On the bright side at least Armstrong and Kolli are getting some experience. If Kakay does not get back in time or jet lagged who will get the call - interesting choice to make.
