injuries or substitutions to give everyone one a run out? A bit of both with Chair and JCS both having knocks, but also the new performance manager monitoring players and stopping them playing or pulling them off if not ready. Temperatures in Steyr are pretty high and for example Smyth and Armstrong were not allowed to play the first game, not because of injury but because their performance levels were not good enough and yesterday they were given pre-planned 30 minute run outs . I would prefer to see any player with a knock sit out a pre-season game rather than play and aggravate the problem. After 2 games to see the players and the hope of a couple of new players signing, I hope to see the team start to take a more settled shape in the friendlies back in the UK. I would hate to see the full team rotation approach carry on up to the first league game, we need to know who our best staring 11 will be and what sort of formation they will play, and use it in the last couple of warm up games. |
