Sad to see him go to be honest despite his past mistakes he has stuck by the club. I doubt his departure will have much impact on the day to day running of the club.
No doubt the moaners will be happy that they have got their wish to see him go but will now have to find a new man to aim their Twitter and social media venom at.
Why now - maybe cannot afford to keep putting money in every month, new fish to fry, or just time to make more room for Reilley who obviously has a track record in sports club ownership and investment.
I imagine he must have taken a massive financial hit to "sell" his shares and will wait to see the Companies House filling as to the new share ownership structure.
After thought - I wonder if Sir Les knew this was going to happen and was behind his decision to leave?

I came on to pretty much say the same thing. Fernades might not of been everyone's favourite chairman, and obviously made mistakes. But he did invest in the club, The mistakes really could of gone the other way with a little luck. He backed managers who bought in over priced mercenaries. So not all his fault. If he had gone down the Flavio and Bernie route would we really be thanking for that .... I doubt it.

His Airline business has been in trouble for years. Also now realizes virtually nil or impossible chance of a promotion push to the Premier League this season..... or maybe even a number of seasons into the future
Hence he decides to make his exit.

Who is ultimately funding the club now, and their underlying wealth/source of funds?

Well Ruben owns 51% so he is doing the most funding I guess.

Always thought that TF was a pretty decent guy but really a fish out of water as far as football was concerned. Consistently conned by various know it alls and Some diabolical managers, he never had the acumen and ruthlessness of a Daniel Levy in order to nip it in the bud. I suspect he has taken an enormous hit financially, even though he is still a very wealthy man. I can only wish him well, he only wanted what was best for QPR even though he wasn’t really cut out for the sordid business that football has become these days.

You cant deny that he put his money where his mouth is, but for me I want to thank him for some great highs but please close the door behind him and move on.

For a successful businessman, he was really quite a clown. I read his book - he loves to be popular. But in football that clouded his judgement. He took over after the crazy days of Bernie and Flavio, permanent administration threat, and the gun trial. So although he screwed it up, he took us away from financial frailty, and from being a joke club, to times of affluence. We had not one, but two promotions - we dream of such times now. He has lost a fortune on QPR, often just trying to be popular. But at times displaying shocking judgement. We are still owned by rich owners, but his real legacy today is that we are unable to spend the wealth due to his (and others) catalogue of errors. Just like with managers and directors of football, we have to be careful what we wish for. So who knows what lies ahead. The chances are that it will not matter a jot that he has gone, and as many wanted new owners, perhaps they just meant Fernandes out. Well that could cheer up a few. For me, just like Surrey, thanks for the highs Tony, but you give businessmen a bad name.

For me, just like Surrey, thanks for the highs Tony, but you give businessmen a bad name. Agree with most of that. Just to add one point is that successful business men at that level really depend on hiring and running a skilled management team to implement their vision. It is not a one man show. TF's big mistake was putting trust in people like Hughes and 'Larry and opening his purse strings blindly. While many will blame TF for our problems much more fire should have been aimed at the managers he employed. Of course it was bad judgement on his part to trust them so much but then they had the reputation and experience to know better. Anyway good luck to him in whatever he does and it would be good to see him turn up as a guest at a home game sometime. A

www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-67139504The fact that he decided to post the picture and story, shows how he has no idea about how he is perceived. When I saw the story, I thought what a to**er!

I thought he was pretty gutsy!
Probably we would have been better off if when he was at QPR he had spent more time doing such things; and avoiding all his QPR nonsense - which in part why we are where we are now!
