Maybe time to push Walsh into the starting line-up. If he does well it will be good for the team and maybe end up as a good sell on in a couple of. seasons. If he struggles we can fall back on Archer but the only way to tell about Walsh is give him the shirt and gets some Championship experience.
Meanwhile it will be interesting to see what comments if any Dieng makes about his departure and what role he will play up there with Boro already having signed Glover. Bro have signed 6 new players already - promotion gamble coming up.

£2m is a decent fee given one year left on contract. Goalkeeper is a big issue now - is Archer capable for this level? Walsh no way near this level given where he has been sent on loan - lower non-league. Mahoney on loan at Swindon, hopefully he gets the first team experience he needs but height is a major issue for him to make it as a pro at this level. There must be a good experienced keeper available on a free somewhere in UK/Europe that we will pick up. Thats nearly £3m from player sales, mostly profit as well, I expect we need to get too nearly double that to keep FPP away for next season, so I still expect one (maybe two) of Dykes, Willock, Field and Chair to leave to get that £3m. Then maybe Ainsworth will get £1m of that to spend plus lots of free transfers/loans. I think we need minimum 5 players through the door still, even without any further outgoings. GK, RB, CB, CM and STR.

Can’t see Dykes going anywhere just signed a new deal to 26. Of the other 3, the one I would want to keep most is Field, followed by Chair and if we have to sell let Willock go.

I'm not sure on Dykes - I think the new contract helps us to get a better fee and surely there must have been some release clause in there given his age, international and must have ambitions to play in the premier league?

Selling Seny is a critical mistake. He is a superb keeper and Prem clubs were looking at him. Reminds me of when we sold Reg Allen to Man U for a record sum back then. This move for me will put us in relegation trouble. We barely stayed up last season. We had terrible problems scoring goals, Dieng saved us many points. After decades of supporting QPR I have decided to retire.

Having a player leave who didn't care about the club, didn't want to be with us and was known to be partying when he should be focusing and a disruption in the dressing room isn't a mistake in my book.

On 3rd thoughts, its the money stupid. Sell anyone for 2 million. So Ill stay on board. Yup, I go back to Reg Allen. We were promoted in 1948 to the old 2nd division. Then we sold Reg Allen to Man U for the largest sum for a keeper. But after he was gone were demoted back to the third tier which lasted decades. But these are different times

We sold Seny because he did not want to play for us and we had the choice - sell him now for 2 million or force him to stay with half hearted performances some of which we saw in the second half of last season and see him leave for nothing. PL clubs may have looked at him but none went for him and there is a reason why. He did his valuation and prospects no good with some of his performances last season. No doubt if he is committed and playing he can get back to what we know he can do especially with a better defence in front of him. Retiring because we sold a player who wanted to leave is a bit extreme though.

Ill take that back. Lots about Seny I did not know so I won't retire. But Im old enough I might kick the bucket before I retire. I was watching QPR during work war 2 when the referee manned the anti aircraft gun
The Luftwaffe had their eyes on Stamford Bridge. So all safe at Loftus Rd.

I was watching QPR during work war 2 when the referee manned the anti aircraft gun The Luftwaffe had their eyes on Stamford Bridge. So all safe at Loftus Rd. Harry, sad that Seny nearly achieved what the Luftwaffe could not. I am glad that retirement is deferred, and remove that bucket! But no player defines a club. No manager, owner, stadium, location or kit defines us. It is the community, the faith, the hope and the occasional successes. There are many other teams that I follow, but no matter what, I could not defect or give it up. Back in 2015, I was given just 6 months to live if a procedure was unsuccessful. It then all becomes about family and friends for me. But I recall going along to QPR, wondering if it was my last season, or trip up to W12. Such an experience makes one value every day, and why I am always a half glass full merchant. I am sorry to lose Seny, I wish him well, but stuff him if he does not want to play for my club.

Deny was a good keeper, but we all pretty much knew, that with one year left on his contract, he was one of the saleable assets we had and it was likely to be this window he would be sold in.
So, it isn’t really a surprise.
Dave Mac has said we will be getting a keeper, just interesting to speculate at the moment as to who that will be.

I only read the WLS web site and not Twitter but they have been very quiet and so far not even mentioned TF departure. I assume the web team may be on vacation. Interesting that Dave Mac says we will get a keeper - maybe he does not know who the target is or we have not decided yet. While it is pretty quiet on the transfer rumour side I take that as a good sign that we are doing our business in the right way - quietly until we get a signature instead of going public through leaks and seeing other clubs step in to take our targets - although often those leaks come from agents to whip up fees. On the other hand it could mean we do not have the money or targets to make any signings yet but my glass is still just over half full.
