Really thought he'd be staying. And would have been good back up and on bench

I hope we are getting an upgrade of him then as I never used to like the guy before QPR but amongst all the weak pathetic performances around him, he did ok and what he had to do, put a shift in. Rather we had kept him.

We have to reserve judgement until the full squad is in place. I was not happy when he signed, but he turned out to be a canny signing. Not worried about him departing. Had we extended, I can only image this and other message board if we had to give him more than one season, or if he only mads a handful of appearances across the season. Must be a future QPR quiz question 'Name the centre forward who joined QPR for 4 months, was named captain and then released'. Keep the faith!

We are down to Dykes Armstrong and Smyth as our named strikers - not enough for the championship. So keeping Martin for a season as back up to Dykes or as super sub (we can have 9) would not have been a worry for me - likely a question of lack of pace and length of contract than anything else behind his departure.
But with him gone we need more upfront and at the moment I cannot see where it will come from. Keep the faith as Ricky says and I'm sure we can find someone .......can't we? Ainsworth says he wants pace to get behind defenders so I hope he must have some names in mind.

We don't know the ins r our as to why he has singed for anther year, we don't even know if we offered it to him. Long way to go in transfer window and we haven't brought any loans in yet . Personally I would have like him t stay, i liked the way he ruffled the opposition feathers and got them wound up.

True we do not know the in's and outs but we do know from the Offie on May 11th that he was not on the list of players being released at the end of their contract and that the club stated they were in negotiations with him to extend his stay. The others under negotiation at that time have signed except for Martin. So the likely scenario's imo as to why we could not agree an extension are either money or length of contract or guarantees on number of appearances or he has received a better offer. Pure speculation and irrelevant now. Maybe we will use Armstrong to ruffle the opponents feathers but I think it would be better to develop his all round play and goal scoring at this level rather than use him as a battering ram.

although his contract officially came to an end he is currently in talks re new contract , I would hope he would stay as for me he was one of the better loanees and gave all in the blue and white hoops in such a short time which can't be said for a lot of them enough said
