Mad. Why not make it 11 with no limit on how many can be played. Clubs could then play 2 different teams in each half to keep players fresh.
Ridiculous decision when many clubs are being forced to reduce squad sizes due to FFP and I cannot understand why the clubs have actually voted in support of the idea.
While people can argue it will let academy players get on the bench, if they are not good enough for the team they may well spend a long cold winter watching from the sidelines or be used as 93rd minute subs to eat up time.
There were games in the last couple of seasons when we did not or could not even name a full squad of subs or named 2 keepers on the bench. I can see that being a regular occurrence at many clubs with this increased number.

Looking back 60 years to the first Sub (Before my football watching time); Seems crazy there was a time when there was no sub...And maybe even 2. Or 2 + Goalie. But not it's nuts
Originally the obvious was that if a player got injured; shouldnt so impact a team.
But anything else is nuts...And just a more-marginal advantage

The other consideration is squad size / FFP. We currently have 21 players including 3 keepers (some will leave, more will join). But we need 20 players for a match now. So live within FFP limits - but have bigger squads! Ainsworth had said he wanted a smaller tighter squad. The difference in the quality of the benches next season will speak volumes. Youth players will have to make up the bench with a squad cap of 25. But the quality in each case will be interesting.

What's next? Rolling subs like in League or 11 subs that you can swap at half time??
