Waited until last nights result before posting this. Well done Neil Warnock but it’s hard not to have some sympathy with the Reading fans and players. Not their fault that incompetent management caused their demise, and who are we to talk! Had the six point deduction not happened it would have been us fighting a desperate last game to avoid relegation.
Recent post by Clive on LFW makes for sober reading, he says we have nothing to celebrate for such a shameful season. Only someone else’s misfortune really saved us and not our sudden and fortunate recent performances. You may well disagree but it should never have been like this for either us or Reading.

Yes, we are familiar with our demise, but Reading fans enjoyed being top of the league after 6 games, 3rd after 8 games and still 3rd after 12 games -so the first quarter of the season they like us were looking up not down. When we went top on the 22nd October, they were 10th. I do believe that had it not been for the points deductions of both Wigan and Reading, we would have been relegated. We would certainly have been going to a critical game on Monday. Just hope that we can build on it.

Yes the breaking spirit is a very valid point even for Reading over the last 6-7 games

Let's suppose results work out today , we win and end up on 53 points and with the right other results we could end up with 6 clubs below us. Still not a fabulous season but we are staying up because we picked up 7 points from our last 3 tough games and Readings 6 point deduction has nothing to do with us or our staying up. The whole table is based on ifs and buts including ours. What if Willock and Chair and Clarke-Salter etc had been fit and playing to their ability all season, what if we had made different management appointments. Our teams spirit was broken just as much as Reading or Wigan but for different reasons.
Yes feel sorry for Reading fans because of their owners bad work but the club knowingly broke the rules on more than one occasion and despite warnings carried on doing the same, received and agreed a not too harsh penalty as required by the rules. Wycombe were relegated because the EFL did not apply the required sanctions against Derby - that's life with an inconsistent governing body. Plus feel sorry for Wigan for the mess the mess their management created.
Anyway my point is there has been so much negativity posted on here in recent weeks and days - any way to criticise the club. Not worth reading most of it. We deserve to go down we are the worst team in the league we could not even beat a League 1 club we are doomed - and when we manage to turn round an apparent impossible situation, instead of giving credit we find excuses that we only survived because of others misfortune. As I posted a few weeks ago, never give up hope, nothing is over until the last kick of the season but most of what I was reading was coming from "loyal fans" turning on the club with a month to go when the club needed our support the most. Special mention for Marc who has the right belief and kept the faith - well done..
I was against the Ainsworth appointment and still do not believe he is the man to take us forward - already talking about a smaller, older squad with multiple over 30's players and with B team making up the numbers playing the long ball game - may work in League 1 but not the Championship and how does that fit into the good football passing game and developing young player approach everyone wanted. I will however take my hat off to him for getting the players on side and grinding out the points to keep us safe.
Have a good summer

I will however take my hat off to him for getting the players on side and grinding out the points to keep us safe. Have a good summer I think I count as one of the 'loyal ' supporters / posters who became negative this season. But I went along to the games, trying to do my bit to support whatever was put out in front of me - and sometimes it was not good to watch! I will be there again today. However, it has been one of the poorest seasons that I can recall and that is because our problems now run very deep. I respect those who managed to stay positive, and I am very pleased we survived, but we did so with enormous, good fortune over the last two games. But the size of the task ahead should not be underestimated. We are dependent on securing some good free transfers - as are most clubs - so it will be very competitive. Reading were reasonably comfortable before the points deduction, whereas we were in freefall. So more good fortune for QPR. I give credit to Ainsworth because he managed to get the team to defend as a unit - he did what he had to do. But I will judge him on how the squad perform next year, once he has had a window and pre-season. I really hope he succeeds. He loves the club. I may not be as downbeat as Clive (LFW) but his piece linked below is well worth a read for a dose of realism. www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/60197

That will almost surely be us next season, unless major changes are made at every single level of this club.

If we do not do something NOW and before the start of next season then we are without doubt doomed. We have -27 goal deficit equal with Wigan. Our home form is second worst in the league. However even if Reading not deducted 6 points, they would survive but Cardiff -not us -relegated. However, most of our points gained before our last 2 managers appointed. With a few notable exceptions (incl wins at Burnley and Stoke) we have played amazingly poorly and shown we are lucky to survive. Something I believed was impossible. GA is currently saying we need major changes and he is correct as the current team is an embarrassment. The sides coming down from the Premiership, and those coming up from Division 1 are by far better than us as things stand at the moment. The emergency lights are flashing right now: It will be too late to wait until after half a dozen games or so into next season and then say we need a change.
