None of this would have happened under Cratchley Imho I agree, he may looks like the lead singer of Guns N Roses but he is proving to be a decent manager. Got a big job to do over the summer though

Maybe he brought a touch of joy to the clubhouse

I actually like the fact that he has shored up our defence.
I know people want free flowing football but, personally, I’ll happily take 20% possession and a breakaway goal if it means we win 1-0 every week!

In particular the wins over Burnley and Stoke saved us, hence our manager deserves the plaudits. His post-match interviews after those games shows the passion he has for QPR. Plus he in effect explained and admitted possession was surrendered for getting results.
So can anyone doubt that changing manager to GA was a master stroke whether by luck or judgment.

We certainly rode the horse of good fortune and I am delighted. It worked better for us being away and parking the bus - our away record this season ending up better than our home form - so much for fortress Loftus Road. It gives us a chance to reset so I hope we get it as right as we can this Summer. But what did Ainsworth change? Well I believe his major achievement was to get the team to defend as a unit. Players were not tracking back before, including Chair and Lowe. But by setting up to defend, the gaps were no longer there and we stopped getting caught on the transition - so many goals this season conceded on the transition. By playing deep, both Dickie and Dunne looked different players. The gaps in front of them removed, they could face the opposition and not get turned. I don't think the fans would have tolerated that set up at home, but away from home it worked - twice. Playing against Burnley we used up our accrued luck account - they had so many chances - and eventually scored a screamer. But yesterday, we allowed Stoke all the possessions and they created very few chances. When they did create, Seny was in form. So a bit of belief, a ton of enthusiasm and the players responded. Motivation is great, but it requires buy-in and I think he got it. So I am delighted for Gareth and wish him all the very best for next season. He really loves the club, I want him to succeed.

Yeah he said in the post game presser that , the problem with the Coventry and Preston type games we had the possession but got done on the counter time and time again. So the Norwich WBA Burnley and Stoke games we just sucked it up and then countered them, managing to get 8 points from those four games what got us over the line. I think getting those 6-7 players back from injury for the last 6-7 games helped too. Critchley did have a long spell of players injured , some we don’t know if they actually were.
Anyway enough of that, main thing is we did it, hopefully we can go out in style and get a last day win.

Interesting to see Laird put in a good performance and Johanson joining in the celebrations and hugging GA. Makes me wonder if the conjecture about bad eggs had any truth at all

Lots of work to do in the summer, though.
I know loads of fans on twitter want him out and their own personal favourites in, but you can't just go sacking managers every couple of months, especially not one whose just kept you up.
What happens next is important though.
GA has done his coaching badges so he knows more to tactics than just the long ball game.
The question now is, does he get players in who can play a more expansive game while still putting in the hard yards and doing a shift?
Or does he go for 80's style cloggers and stay with his long ball style?
What interests me is that when Beale departed many wanted Dyche, but he's pretty much a glorified long ball merchant too. Funny how some who wanted Dyche couldn't and still can't stand the thought of Ainsworth.
I think there's room for both approaches and one thing GA has done in the last 2 games is made us a defensive unit that actually stopped conceding goals for fun. Burnley had to score a worldie to equalise against us and Stoke couldn't score at all
I think he realised the best way to approach this was to go right back to basics, put 10 men behind the ball and look to hit on the counter.
That in itself is actually a lot smarter than sitting there coming up with all these amazing new tactics and then still going out and getting your butts whipped.

Agree with above. But now we have a new challenge. Is there enough money in the club and enough brainpower in the front office to build a team that can have enough spine and win power to keep us above the Maginot line. That frail line in France that couldn't contain the Germans and for us well above the relegation zone.

Gareth Ainsworth on summer transfers: “I have been planning. It’s been difficult to plan while we didn’t know what division we’re going to be in, but I’ve got some names.” #QPR @westlondonsport

I think it would be extremely harsh/cold blooded to axe Ainsworth now. (And not sure even wise)
If we don't like his style of football - Well people knew that (and complained about it) before he was even appointed. And the Owners presumably knew too.
And we don't exactly always do very well in managerial appointments. So could just as easily sign a dud.
BUT...Owners do have to decide re this. And who makes the signings etc. Because an Ainsworth type player is different to a Beale signing

Meaning a complete departure from everything we have tried to be up till now. Ainsworth players strike me as being physical dogs of war types. Maybe, after all this tippy tappy stuff in our own third, this is what we need, a bit of steel and players who are mentally tough? Is there a guy in there who actually wants to play a more expansive game but never could do so with the resources he had at Wycombe? We will soon find out.

No Les and 2 wins. Do we really need a DOF?
