Well none of the predictions are going to be 100% correct after some shock results which have actually created a bit of interest in a World Cup I was going to ignore.

What I find disappointing is that Brazil having already qualified made 10 changes to their starting line up for their last group match. While I can understand arguments that they wanted to give their first team a rest or wanted to give everyone a run they ended up losing a game they should have won and opened the door for another country to take second place. Only the fact that Switzerland managed to win meant their decision had no impact.

I thought there were rules at least in England about making wholesale changes for a cup game and for an event such as the World Cup I would think FIFA should have some sort of rule - changing 5 maximum and the ability to use subs would be more than sufficient.

Can't keep a good man or football club down !

As the world turns - Italy did not even qualify, Germany have not been anywhere near their normal best for a couple of seasons now and Belgium had an ageing underperforming squad that will break up now. Even then Belgium they had a enough chances in the second half of their last game to get through but Lukaku missed missed a handful of chances from inside the box including an open goal from award out - even Dykes could not have missed a couple of those.

Looking at the Premier League it is loaded with overseas players and some of the traditional "weak" countries at the World Cup in fact have a number of PL players and are better Han we think. Senegal will give England a good test and even beat them today. Pity for QPR if they do as we will be missing Seny for the Burnley game.
