So, we parted with Warburton, looked for a new direction by searching for a young coach. Several names were banded about, way before Michael Beale's name hit the social media - who? The names that were said to be in the frame were: Manning (MK Dons), Rowberry (Newport), Richardson (Wigan) and Edwards (Forest Green). These coaches were the future of British football. Bright, different thinkers, developers of youth, miracle workers. Today, three of the four are unemployed and the fourth is clinging by his fingernails. Meanwhile, Beale is the 8th longest serving manager in the Championship with less than 5 months experience on his CV - and yet been unsuccessfully headhunted by Wolves. It really is crazy and getting crazier. Rob Edwards – promotion winning manager of Forest Green – Sacked by Watford 26/9/22
James Rowberry – opted to stay with Newport County. Sacked 10/10/22
Liam Richardson – promotion winning Wigan Manager. Sacked 10/11/22
Liam Manning – Stayed with Milton Keynes Dons - Currently 21st in League One, recently bottom of the table.
Michael Beale – currently dealing with first slump as a manager / head coach

Was the right choice for us. I don’t personally blame Beale to much at all for the slump and one point in fifteen is a slump how ever rosy you want to make it look. The players let him down big time , forgot how to defend set pieces. Five goals conceded out of six all from set plays shocking. I do think however Eustace knew how he stood a chance of beating us and it worked, WBA and Huddersfield just followed the same principals. Not enough effort from defenders with set pieces, midfield were average in these games, Chair has underperformed the last few games and Dykes is just Dykes, sorry but never a clinical enough finisher, we do need better at some point in the next decade. However in truth it has to said Dykes service was poor in the WBA and Huddersfield matches and maybe most strikers would have struggled.
On the manager front good to see the Luton boss has at least moved out the Division, the little ferret 😀

Think too early to tell re Rob Edwards...Thought at the time strange Watford going for him - given their goals.
Obviously watching how Eustace does at Birmingham is "interesting."
And I personally would have kept with Warburton (although as has been reported; seems conflicts behind the scenes - and ultimately all have to be on one page)

Birmingham we’re on a good roll which ended last night. My friend is a Birmingham supporter and he said they had been punching above there weight and expectations. He said most supporters just want to get to that 50 point mark which they have only just about managed to get and avoid relegation the last two years. I would be amazed if they finish in the top 8 this season but as we know the league this year is very wide open. Everybody beats everybody. Only Burnley with two losses seem a cut above the rest, they take on Blackburn Monday, I guess a draw a good result for us.

Beale's "project" not going so well at the moment. Maybe he should have taken on the Wolves project when it was offered to him.
Seriously though, how many points do we still need to avoid the drop?
