this season so far has been really bad for injuries , it seems as though when we get a full strength side we lose maybe two or three again now we have Johansen out until after the world cup with heel problem , maybe be back for Burnley game ,also Tyler Roberts gone back to Leeds for treatment on calf problem , is it the way we train the players or is it just coincidental ? I have no idea maybe some people on here can maybe shed some light on to why this is happening on such a regular basis , feel free to comment

On occasion I think its a calculated risk by the club and a lot of bad luck. We have picked up players in the past "on the cheap" that normally would be above us knowing they have had injury issues hoping we can sort them. As a club I believe we have a really good medical dept, I cant think if many clubs that have someone the level of Dr Ahmad.
No idea if the deso pitches cause any issues?

I think it is a number of things. The two game a week schedule and early season start (due to the World Cup) has put a strain on all teams. We are playing a high intensity, fast game - we have suffered a few impact injuries as a consequence - Field and Stephan frequently get clobbered (and clobber others). We have acquired players that have an injury history - if they did not, we probably could not afford them. In particular, Roberts, Richards and Clarke-Salter have all had lengthy injuries in their careers - and it is continuing it seems. Beale has also said that Arnstrong is still learning how to pace himself - he is having to be used sparingly. We have a medical team that is listened to by the Head Coach - we do not rush players back anymore. In the past managers have lived on a match by match tenure, whereas Beale has security of tenure and does not have to take the same risks. Dare I say it.....certain players seem to pull up at the least twinge....I think Roberts number one priority is to go to the World Cup and so is taking no risk.

We are not alone in this league with injuries, Sheff utd had 10 players out recemtly. What doesn't help is the ridiculous fixture list, 2 weeks off for the meaningless nations leagues and then we are expected to play Saturday, Tuesday and Friday.

Are our injuries this season really so much worse than normal (or compared to other clubs?)

No course there not. We have had far far worse times than this. Our injuries just highlight our biggest weakness.
Sinclair had to sit out a game or two and he is handy as a sub to come on in games and now Tyler Roberts option gone back to Leeds as was always injured. Apart from that, the Club knew what we had just Dykes. My friends non QPR supporters can not believe that Dykes is our best and basically only option up top, they all scream out he is never going to be our answer to getting out this League. You can hold the ball up all day long but at some time point when chances come you have to bury them and that is sadly where Dykes game is exposed, certainly nothing against the guy he tries all day long and puts in a shift all day long just like Washington did. Sadly it’s a money thing and we don’t have the funds to get a striker but then you have to realise with even some of the best midfielders and defenders in the League, unless you are getting goals you won’t get promoted.
Maybe he can do it tonight and get a hatful , who knows but he needs help, asap.

I take the points about more midweek Games and faster and more intense. What I would question is if training schedules have grown . Delivered to quite a few training grounds , including ours . You rarely see anyone doing anything after 11.30 other than eating.so I'm not sure training has progressed as quickly as football . But then maybe more is done inside with gyms and pools ect .

Yes, it is a good point. When games are coming thick and fast, and with long distance mid-week games, training has to be more limited. I am also surprised how many times player come on to the field without warming up. It must lead to more hammy injuries - and I am talking about clubs in general, not just QPR

Harr. You make some very good points there....especially that comment.... unless you are getting goals you wont get promoted.
Can our strikers score? Hmmm not at all sure about that! Can a fully fit Willock and Chair compensate? Lets damn well hope so

Can a fully fit Willock and Chair compensate? Lets damn well hope so Willock and Chair compensate all the time for us and we are lucky to have them. The problem for us I feel is when they have a poor game and of course it happens like Saturday. Then you need a moment of brilliance from a forward or someone else. I hope tonight we see a different QPR. West Brom started Saturday like the home team, we need a better start with Willock and Chair on song like you say. I think as long as we keep them two fit and at the Club in January and with a forward addition, under Beale we have a great chance of making the top six. When you looked at our fixtures after Norwich, three teams in the bottom four, I was hoping for 7 points if we could. WBA was always going to be a slippery fish of a game with a new Manger and first win under there belt. No excuses tonight though , a game we have to win.
